I have have been playing this game for 3 days so far, on my SWITCH LITE. What I have to say is that, the reviews on here saying that the graphics are awful, are just comparing the switch to the ps5 and other high end systems. Clearly if you have a higher end system I wouldn’t get the switch version. For switch standards this is a fantastic game! There is some lag especially when running through hogwarts, some of the graphics aren’t as good as other ones in the game, and I have experienced a couple weird graphical glitches, DEFINITELY not as bad as Pokémon scarlet and violet. The game only crashed on me once. And it drains my battery super quick, but overall I’m really enjoying my experience, I would definitely watch some gameplay on youtube too see if this game is for you though. If the switch is the only console you have, I would DEFINITELY pick this up. But if you have the newest console or a better console, then I would skip this one. But just remember if you are used to the higher end versions of the game then you will most likely be disappointed, but if the switch version is the only version you know, im pretty sure you will be content. I'm not much of a gamer. As a kid, I could never beat games that had storylines. I would reach a level or task that I couldn't figure out, and that was the end of it. So the fact that I invested $60 into this game and am having a blast should say something. Look, the graphics aren't as good as you might find with other platforms these days. My first thought when I started the game was, "Yikes, there are some areas of this that look terrible." There's a glitch with the hood on my robe (since been fixed with a December update). Yet I was willing to overlook it and I was quickly immersed. I'll also add that these "imperfections" are much more noticeable when you're playing on a big screen and much less dramatic when playing on the Switch itself. The storyline of this game and how much there is to explore is enough for me to completely forget about its shortcomings. And I should also mention I only know what I'm missing graphically because a friend let me wander around as their character on the PS5 version which SHOULD look better. There's actually a bit of nostalgia to the graphics here. And the fact that this game is playable on the Switch is incredible. I've already spent a few hours having great fun. You should get this if you: -only have a Switch and have no plans to invest in another console -want to play the game and don't care about having the best graphics or performance possible -want to be able to take the game with you or play on a connected screen -love the Wizarding World ... show more

After being one of the unfortunate Switch muggles who had to wait until the end of last month to get this game due to our copies not being finished, I literally screamed when my game arrived. I took out the game I was previously playing, and was immediately sucked into the game. Even tho we had to wait a few more months, it was totally worth it. This game is a masterpiece! I even showed my parents, and they were both in shock of the graphics. My dad said it looked so realistic. The story and the puzzles are so much fun. Sure there are a couple glitches and system errors every now and then, but that's no big deal. Hogwarts Legacy is awesome and I recommend it to anyone and everyone! ... show more

The most gaming my wife has done is Stardew Valley. This was her first 3D game so I was hoping she wouldn’t just toss it on the shelf. I can happily say she’s now 10 hours in and has improved her controller skills a ton. She learned how to battle and fly her broom, work the inventory, map, etc. Pretty fun to see a total beginner learn and actually enjoy playing. The graphics on the game are very downgraded compared to other consoles or PC, but it doesn’t take away from the gameplay in my opinion. The story has been interesting and the puzzles are fun. There’s a good balance of everything in the game. If you are thinking of getting this for a beginner, I can say from experience this game was a winner. I’m excited to show her Breath of the Wild when she’s done with Hogwarts Legacy. ... show more

First off, if you like to pick up a controller and play right away, this isn't the game for you. But, if you like following a story and spending half of your console time watching a movie, then this is perfect for you. When you are actually playing it's a pretty decent game. It takes a little while to get the hang of the map. It's also easy to get distracted with the overwhelmingly large castle and all the hidden objects you can find. Games like that can get boring because it seems like there isn't a linear path to take, even though there is, you just have to remember to look at your next task and get back on it. Edit: After playing for several more hours, the game gets really good. You just have to have the time to really focus on learning all of the controls and the spells. Which, I don't typically have the time. The duels are really fun. The amount of detail they put into this game to make it look and feel like the movies is really impressive. From the covered bridge, Hagrids hut, to the moving stairs, and even the overworld around the castle, they covered it all. ... show more
