The paper thickness isn’t as thick as I thought it would be, but the quality is nice, I love the A5 size, and the light weight of the book. The design is great too! I bought the English version and I’ll be using it as my 2025 archive this coming year! So excited! My first hobonichi cousin!

I’m sure the notebook itself is fine this review is more of either the retailer sending damaged goods or Amazon’s failure to package the product correctly. Too lazy to replace.

I was really excited to get next year's Hobonichi, but unfortunately this one arrived damaged. It was in one of those "we saved a box", paper envelopes so no idea when or where it got damaged but it could have been anywhere. Haven't decided if it is damaged enough to return, but for the price, this is certainly something that would irritate me for all of 2025.

This is my second year buying a Hobonichi planner, but this year I went with the Hobonichi Cousin (last year I got the Hobonichi Original (size A6). I love this is bigger and there's more room to journal in . It arrived with the corners a little scuffed up, but honestly not worth my time to try to get a replacement because most likely it will arrive in the same condition since it's being shipped from an Amazon warehouse and not directly from Hobonichi in Japan. So, just be aware of that. I can't justify paying the expensive shipping cost if I buy directly from Hobonichi, so this is fine for me if the corners come a bit roughed up. Other than that, I truly enjoy the layout and design of the Hobonichi journal/planner.

This is a lovely book but for the price, I would expect an issue like this to happen after several months of constant use. However, I have simply began setting up my book for next year and I already have this binding issue. It’s unfortunate given the price and the fact that I can’t return bec it has already been used.
