The construction, weight and its appearance is simply the very best one I have ever used. It fits various size coffee mugs and cups. I have tried so many gadgets for the lazy moments when I just want to stretch out on the sofa and have my favorite latte or ice tea. Nothing worked like this. I always felt a little nervous that I might spill the drinks on my sofa. This one is so sturdy, looks nice and most importantly very functional. This product works great on my curved arm leather couch. I liked it so much I bought a second one. However: The insert is very hard to remove. This is evident in the many reviews which state the exact same thing. It doesn’t have to be as tight as it is. At some point in their manufacturing process, they made it too tight. I go back and forth from beer bottle to water bottle. It takes took long to remove so I fixed it. I took the insert to my bench grinder and tore out two finger holes which allow you to get the leverage you need. 2nd, with the insert out you can VERY. CAREFULLY pry open the cup holder until you hear a small “crack” sound. Loosening it up more. Hope this helps someone.

I have one on my recliner. It allows me to not have to reach so far for my drinks. It has also held my tv controller. I liked it so much I sent one to my daughter. Wide recliners can be a problem for small women's reach and this really helps. One caveat, if your recliner is also a rocker, be careful when sitting down. It can splash.

I'm trying to be better about writing reviews about things I really enjoy, given how much I order from Amazon and am meh on. Problem: My 6'7" boyfriend enjoys sitting in a large armchair. However, our apartment and living room arrangement makes any side table awkward. This left him holding onto his drink with no place to easily set it if he decided to work on his laptop. I saw this item in passing from time to time and sort of scoffed. Like...$25? For a silicone cup holder? Really? Boy, am I eating my words. This was a very nice surprise. It feels heavy and sturdy, with the two ends weighted nicely so its not easily displaced. Underneath there is a plastic base that may or may not be removable? I'm thinking not. But it keeps things stable and flat. There is a plastic insert so you can try to fit larger mugs (not all will fit though). I found it useful with my larger water bottles. The finish is matte with the exception of the plastic pieces. While this is nice, it does show dust and attracts hair. Easy enough to wipe off with a damp cloth. Overall, do you need it? Depends on who you are. But I'm very, very pleased with the construction and the durability. My boyfriend is as well. One of those little things that makes our lives a smidgen better.
