Honestly this platform is necessary and should come stock with it. Reduces noise and rocking. You can set weights on the platform while using so it no longer pushes back. Little pricey. Things to note: angles might not work if you like weird angles. If you have the standard machine, if you put it near the floor the rotating arm hits the bottom so it won't go as low. ... show more

Review is based upon compatibility with the Hismith Tabletop Pro 2.0 model. It also fits the versions with adjustable legs, undoubtedly someone else will report back on those. This is based upon the build and appearance, I may update once it’s actually been field tested. The underside is covered with a hard textured rubber which seems to offer a significant improvement in friction on top of a bed and presumably on carpeting. Will update with hardwood floor results. The tabletop model fits perfectly with no gaps, and cleverly designed knobs lock it into place. It appears that it actually screws into the legs of the professional model. For interested parties, the listing doesn’t really mention it, but it comes with a sort of bonnet like an old shower cap or the booties you slip over your shoes to keep floors clean. You can use this so you don’t transfer dirt from the floor onto the bedsheets. It’s a thoughtful addition, and sized perfectly for the base. I’m uncertain regarding its efficacy in use, however - it doesn’t seem to offer much friction. I’ll note that it could be heavier. The machine adds weight, of course, and I don’t know if more is actually needed, but it seemed lighter than I expected. ... show more

This base plate works great! It really keeps everything stable and in place, no more annoying slipping or rotating during use. The setup was super easy, and you can tell it's built to last. If you've got a compatible machine, this is a solid add-on that makes a noticeable difference. Definitely worth it if you want to keep things steady and smooth. It is heavy and very high quality just like the machines! There are various finger screws to keep everything in place. I don't know who came up with the idea foe this but they deserve a raise. Perfectly designed. I am amazed at the quality and functionality of all the product I have bought at Hismith. And the Great thing they keep coming out with more! This non slip base plate is great and does not move!

When both legs are locked in, you can't have the back of the machine at the lowest level. You have to unlock the front leg, pull it out and then lower the back. Front leg doesn't go back in. Value for the money, not at all.
