It's a wide round disc that acts as a base for suction cups, and it definitely holds tight when a seal is formed, which is good given the wild and frenzied and passionate nature of Hismith machines! everything about this product is great. the only reason i gave 4 stars in suction is becasue it will fall off if you ride it too rough. i wished there was another way to make sure it wont fall off. i think about buying another item and adding something to it to test.
