I bought this for my downstairs area to purify the air in the living room, dining room, hallway from the main door, and kitchen. When I first turned it on I was actually disappointed to see the air quality was very good at a 7, I'd been hoping the air quality was normally worse than that so that my girlfriend might see improvement in her allergies from using this. However, after cooking food I've seen the air rating go into the 50s and when we had a party recently I saw it go into the green zone for the first time. So it's been nice to see this thing working to bring the air back into the blue zone. I've been keeping it on auto mode and even when it goes to the highest fan speed it's far quieter than the other two air purifiers I own. Those are both smaller ones that I use for a single room. The area that I have this himox air purifier in is around 1000 sq ft so this purifier should clean the area every 30 minutes. I'm very pleased with this purifier for the price. I didn't feel the need to spend extra on the version with smartphone connectivity because this is a device that I just want to turn on and forget about. This is the first air purifier I've owned that has an air quality reading so I do find myself glancing at the air rating pretty often. When I redeemed the lifetime warranty I found out that himox is an American company which was unexpected but nice to find out. This has been a game changer. I love that I can tell when the air is at a safe level. I use it in my room at my salon and it doesn’t take long for the levels to return to normal. It’s not loud at all so the noise doesn’t bother me. I got the black because it’s sleek. The quality is great.
