    • Excellent Quality But A Couple of Things You Need to Know
Size: Full/Queen Color: Country Pine
I'm very pleased with this headboard. It's excellent workmanship, good quality wood and very attractive. I had no difficulty in terms of putting it together by myself either (except as noted below) - all the pre-drilled holes lined up perfectly and the pieces all fit together well. I have looked for nearly two years now in local stores to find a nice pine headboard and there is simply nothing out there. Nobody seems to make anything in pine anymore - well, at least pine without pressboard. All that being said, there are a couple of things to know so you won't make the same mistakes I did. First, don't try to compare the look of the screws with the drawing on the instructions. If you use the screw that matches that illustration, you will screw it right through the back side of the leg, which is what I did. I was able to repair the wood, and maybe a more experienced carpenter-type person wouldn't have made the same mistake, but the illustration should match the hardware you need to use. So look at the hardware bag first and match up the right screw for the job. It's readily apparent if you know to make that comparison and ignore the drawing on the instructions. Secondly, you do need a particular type of bedframe to connect to the headboard. You need one with vertical flanges on the end of the side members so it can bolt on. It doesn't say that anywhere and right now my headboard is leaning against the wall because I have a standard bed frame that has no end flanges. So if you buy it, be aware that the typical metal bed frame which is just 4 metal rails and wooden cross members may not be the right one. Had I known of the bed frame issue ahead of time, I would still have purchased this product. The price is reasonable and, as I said, the quality excellent. You can always buy a proper bed frame. ... show more

    • Great Solid Wood Headboard
Size: Twin Color: Country Pine
This is a great value. This head board is solid pine. It is extremely well crafted and easily assembled assuming you have a good frame to attach it to. The headboard attaches to the frame with 4 2 1/2" screws and bolts. Your frame with need have a headboard attachment on it. Unlike most simple bedframes. Get a good frame however I don't recommend the TRUCTURES by Malouf which others have recommended to use with it. See my review of that product to understand why I do not recommend it. But the Hillsdale Headboard is amazingly well built to last. While the design is simple, it its elegant and the wood quality (at least in mine) is flawless. No visible knots of discolorations as can sometimes be common in pine .Again, this is not pressboard, this is made from highly finished sold pine. ... show more

    • SOOO glad I purchased this headboard.
Size: Full/Queen Color: Country Pine
My new apt, had my bed up against the window. So pillows would lodge back in the sill, needing more pillows. I needed a headboard for the fix. I purchased a Sauder bookcase headboard at Wal-Mart but was cheap, hard to put together and did not attach well to frame. Quite the contrary, this headboard is ALREADY put together. You just have to attach two 'legs' to the headboard and attach it to the frame with five bolts on each side. The headboard, when attached (to my queen) meets the floor, so gives added support. This is a no brainer. If you like the style, you can't go wrong. And, btw, the wood has a nice expensive finnish, Couldn't' be happier. [...] ... show more

    • Excellent quality solid wood headboard for the price
Size: Twin Color: Country Pine
Very nice quality for the price. All solid pine. I used this on a Zinus bed frame with Zinus headboard brackets Zinus Sleep Master Headboard Bracket, Set of 2 . The headboard has pre-drilled holes for mounting along with 4 sets of bolts, washers and nuts. Unfortunately, the m holes didn't line up, so my husband drilled 3/8" holes in the wood to align with the bracket holes. Worked perfectly and is very sturdy with no wiggle at all. ... show more

    • simple, clean look
Size: Full/Queen Color: Country Pine
super easy to put together, just a bottom leg on each side. no messing with the slats- already attached. not crazy about the allen wrench and screws enclosed with the headboard. wish they were flat or phillips so you could use a drill. it looks more expensive than it is and doesn't clash with existing wood decor(regardless of color). it is light and easily handled by one person even if the box says to use two people. now we'll see how it holds up on a real bed getting real use, not just a spare bed getting occasional use. so far so good-will update if anything changes. ... show more
