August 2023. First "taste" review of the "Hill's Science Diet, Perfect Weight, Hearty vegetables & chicken stew, 12.5 oz per can x 12 cans". Purchased for around $50 (FYI tried to return before opening them because better price was available but *THIS ITEM CANNOT BE RETURNED*). I was in search of a non-prescription, low kcal, low fat, chicken flavored, wet food for a 10 years old schnauzer (adult/senior dog) without her gallbadder, who gained 3 lbs in 4 months due to low metabolism even though she has no appetite (diagnosed with hypothyroidism half a week ago =/). Compared 5 different Hill's wet foods, and chose this because it had the good reviews with moderate fiber, low fat, low kcal/can, and was one of the more cost-effective ones. The food smell is pretty strong and seems to trigger my dog's appetite (yay!). I'll report back after a month or so regarding if the weight is managed/lost/gained. For now, I'm still in the middle of transitioning her to this from FreshPet and also mixing it with Hill's "small dog sensitive stomach/skin" kibbles that I already had). I’ve been buying this for years and you can always trust the quality of this food. It has enough substance and is it not getting more liquid as it gets more expensive. The unfortunate part is that the price keeps climbing for it and so I’m not sure how long it’ll be on my pup’s menu. Seems to be a very healthy food and my Vet recommends it. ... show more

My chunky girls love, it and it doesn’t cause any stomach issues! One of my girls has a really sensitive stomach, and could kill a man with the smell of her turds, but her stomach is doing much better with this!

I buy this because my dog likes it and it’s healthy for my dog. I mix just a tablespoon with the hard dog food and it stretches. It’s also good when other dogs come to the house that graze on their food, all the dogs, gobble it up with a spoonful of moist food.

i like having these delivered monthly and i am very satisfied with Science Diet products. My problem with the last 2 deliveries were damaged cans . 3 cans are so damaged they are almost bent in half and 3 are dented from one side of the can to the other. This is surprising because they do come in a wrapped case and both shipments the damaged cans were in the middle of the case! ... show more

Usually our border collie will not eat diet food so when I purchased this I knew she would eat it as she was eating our grandoggy’s food when we visited and my daughter told me it was this food . So now we are working on getting her down a few lbs . They eats it right up no hesitation at all
