One of my cats has gotten crystals three times now. I’ve tried giving this food to just him but he will go to the other bowls and eat non-urinary food and develop crystals even though he mainly eats the CD. After this last episode of being completely blocked and a 4 day stay at the vets office , I decided that I had to feed ALL the cats this food. I’ve been doing this for about 6 months now and still keeping my fingers crossed that it will prevent another blockage. It is rather expensive, with one 16 pound bag lasting about 5 weeks so I’m spending about $90 a month on this, but it’s much less expensive than a vet visit for clearing a blockage. It’s also a very helpless feeling knowing my cat was in so much pain so I really hope this works as well as the vet says. ... show more

I'll start with the packaging. The bag is high quality thereby ensuring the ingredients are kept fairly fresh from start to finish. The velcro sealing edge of the bag works well from the first time the bag is opened to the last time before it is finally recycled. The seal is tight and secure. There is a lot of product in the bag and the good tight seal keeps the food fresh down to the last cup full. The product itself has a decent clean scent. My cat seems to like it a lot. He is also a finicky eater. The ingredients listed on the bag appear to be healthy and clean. I recommend this product if your vet suggests it. This product must be approved by a vet. My younger cat is prone to UTIs and her vet prescribed this food. Ordering from Amazon was cheaper than buying from the vet. The vet approval process was quick and easy and I’m now on the subscribe and save option. My cats share a food bowl and ate both eating this and seem to like it just fine. We began using this cat food after our 5 year old cat began getting bladder infections, this resulted in her urinating frequently and anywhere she felt the urge. The vet sold this brand and it worked for her, then I realized I can have it delivered on a subscription to our door for free with Prime. I was getting kinda nervous when I was having difficulty finding the prescription cat food I need for my cat. I came up empty handed at a number of locations. Not too sure this works for cat crystals. I know that it is more than 3 days worth of human groceries! And them to get it you have to spend another $100 to go to the vet every year for the prescription!

Because of one of my cats having health issues I had to put all of them on it. I would like to see the fish flavored urinary c/d in the 18 to 20 lb bag. My cats prefer that over the chicken.
