Unprecedented NVMe Boot Capability: SSD6200 series controllers are natively supported by a wide range of VM & OS platforms, including Linux, Windows & VMware. RAID arrays will automatically be recognized as single volumes; no driver required! Simplicity Redefined: One- Click RAID Creation: One-Click RAID Creation enables Solution Providers & VAR’s to optimize production workflows. The onboard RAID switch completely flattens the learning curve by eliminating the need for an operating system, interface or application. Configure arrays with the flip of a switch! No IT background? Distraction-Free, Zero-Noise Cooling Solution: The SSD6204 can operate in complete silence. The full-length black anodized aluminum heat sink & ventilated full-height bracket dissipate waste heat away from critical NVMe controller componentry & the M.2 NVMe SSD’s without the aid of a cooling fan. Intuitive & Streamlined Management Suite: The WebGUI is ideal for customers who are not accustomed to command line based management tools. Wizard-like quick configuration menus allow even the most novice user to get everything up & running with a few simple clicks. The CLI (Command Line Interface) is ideal for experienced administrators and was designed for platforms that do not utilize graphical operating systems. SHI (Storage Health Inspector): Both interfaces include our SHI feature, which enables customers to monitor the health of NVMe SSD’s via SMART attributes, in real-time, such as temperature, TBW (Total Bytes Written), & operational status. The UEFI Package is a command line RAID creation tool used to prepare NVMe configurations for OS installation without the need for a separate OS or application.

  • Had issues from the start
A couple things to consider. This card uses 4 express lanes per m.2 drive. The destination for this was a Dell R730xd server running VMWare for my development database. I tried it in my Dell T320 running VMWare and had problems out the gate. First, if you have any other m.2 drives you have to remove them or things just go sideways. Even then the bios options aren't available in the Dell and HP series servers. I also tried it in an older Dell workstation and had issues. I put it into my home grown AMD Threadripper system running Windows 10 and it recognized it but installing the client allowed me to configure the raid then everything froze. Multiple reboots showed no drive. I tried the lab server again (since the raid was now configurable) and it showed up. The next problem is that I could not install the driver/cli for VMWare 6.7. The zip/vib showed errors. Though it might be in a working state now, without any actual driver support there is no way to manage the raid or even know if there is a problem. The card has 2 x 2TB drives and 2 x 1TB drives and the board gets hot. Like really hot. I'd say 70C +. This card probably has a good future once they flesh out the bugs in their driver/support/hardware but I feel it's not there yet. The problem for me is that I'm $1700+ into this when I could have just bought 2 x 2TB SSD's and hooked them to the perc 7xx raid card for less (which is what I'm going to have to buy now anyway). I will find a use for the M.2 drives but it's hard loss for me. ... show more

  • Awesome Product! Does exactly what it was supposed to do!!!
We used this in a Dell PowerEdge R740 with 4 NVME drives for an SQL server. Works exactly as they said it would, and also fully ESXi compatible. A+ on the quality and ease of configuration! Will be buying more for sure!!! HighPoint answered all my questions before the sale.
