    • A real mixed bag
I’m not saying you shouldn’t buy this sample set, but let’s be real—it’s a bit sketchy when the product images are edited to blur or distort brand names. When the samples arrived, most labeled “not for sale,” it definitely raised my eyebrows, though I really shouldn't have been surprised. That might be a concern for some, but I’m not a lawyer, so I assume that if it’s being sold on Amazon, it’s legal to buy. My biggest issue? The “high-end” colognes I received didn’t match the caliber of those shown in the product images. I understand it’s a random selection, but I have to wonder how many people actually get the luxury brands pictured versus, say, Guess cologne—which was one of the samples in my box. That said, I did enjoy trying out different scents. It’s not really about value for money, but more about convenience. Sure, I could test most of these for free in stores, but this way, I could take my time, try one a day, and really get a feel for each scent. Of the ten samples I received, only one was a complete disaster: Patchouli Reminiscence. I’m convinced there was something wrong with mine—it sprayed out brown onto my white shirt and smelled absolutely rancid. I find patchouli hit-or-miss at the best of times, but this? It smelled like something had died in it, with a hint of burnt oil. That one went straight in the trash. The rest were decent, and a couple were real winners, so overall, I’m happy enough with the purchase though I won't be buying another set. ... show more
