  • Bag contents.
Size: 3 Pound (Pack of 1)
Normally this is one of my favorite foods or pellets to give my Guinea pigs however the bag was more than half dust I actually had to sift the pellets from the dust before I fed my pets. I bought three 3 pound bags and all were like this. It is normal to have certain level of dust or grounded pellets within the bag but to be half the half bag is ridiculous. ... show more

  • Good ingredients, GP fav!
Size: 6 Pound (Pack of 1)
Great food made with good ingredients. Watch the price tho; I’ve seen it for $19 and over which is too high. Should be around $15 or take it out of your cart for a day and put it back when the price changes. It’s not the seller, it’s Amazon’s. To the person who said this food gave her guinea pigs “the runs” so she discontinued; it’s likely not the good. GP’s have a sensitive digestive tract. You have to switch or food in small portions along with the pellet they are currently consuming. Just as you would a dog or a cat. Most domesticated animals that consume a pelleted or kibbled food will have GI upset of you just switch out food without allowing their system to adjust to change. All-in-all, this is a decent price and if you’ve caught it during a hike then buy It at Chewy where the prices don’t inflate by personal spending trends. And you can actually call and talk to a polite human being who is more than willing to fix any issues. Chewy is fantastic and I recommend them to anyone who is buying pet food/supplies! ... show more

  • Evidently Really, Really Yummy
Size: 6 Pound (Pack of 1)
I use this kibble as a thin top layer over Cavy Cuisine from Oxbow when I fill our piggies bowls, and some times in between filling the bowls. Gives them a little variety without too many of the little bright bits in this kibble that are probably not the best for them. The Cuisine is timothy based instead of the alfalfa in the Sunburst, which is supposed to be for young pigs or pregnant ones, or so I've heard. That being said all three piggies go bonkers for Sunburst and there are almost no pieces left over except for what looks like little bits of hay. I use Cavy Cuisine because I was advised it was very healthy for the piggies. I use Sunburst also in limited amounts because the piggies go absolutely postal over it and there is no doubt they really, really enjoy it. Love seeing my little buddies being happy and this is yet another way to provide joy to them. I've offered them several different types of kibble since they came into my life and none inspire such eagerness in them as this one does. ... show more

  • He chunky fruit portions & the pea flakes etc...make this a win, win.
Size: 3 Pound (Pack of 1)
My 7 year old guinea has loved this since tasting it 7 years ago. I ran out of it today (only the 2nd time in his life) & he is crushed, running to the spot where his cereal bowl is, looking where I put it in his hay for him to forage. He is devastated. He doesn't understand esp. the post office slow down (or his food would be here). Needless to say he loves it. The chunky fruit portions & the pea flakes etc...make this a win, win for him & his wife loves it too. ... show more

  • Not for picky piggies
Size: 6 Pound (Pack of 1)
This was a good price, but my piggies tended to eat all the goodies first and not want to eat the pellets. They would only eat them if really desperate. I hear you are supposed to slowly transition from one brand to another by blending increasing amounts of the new brand with the old one, which I didn't do as I had run out of my old one. You may have better luck than me. The ingredients seem decent, so if you are on a budget you may give it a try. if you are changing brands try mixing them. However, I will stick with my tried and true FM Brown's. I'm not affiliated with them, but my guinea kids eat everything in that brand. ... show more

  • Best guinea pig food I've ever used!
Size: 6 Pound (Pack of 1)
This is the highest-quality guinea pig food I have found to date. Although we also use good hay and supplement with vitamins, veggies, etc. it is crucial imo to have a guinea pig food that you can trust to deliver decent nutrition. Some of the pellet-style foods don't have any recognizable seeds or other foods in them -- they just look like the cavy version of Froot Loops or whatever. This food has actual pumpkin seeds, carrot flakes, banana chips, etc. in it. You can see and smell them. One of my piggies is very old and I am extra-careful about what I feed her. I want to keep her with me as long as possible, and I feel that this food is an important part of doing that -- of keeping her healthy and *happy* with her food. (Can you imagine how boring the other stuff is, with no variety in texture or flavor??) Both of my piggies love this food, and I highly recommend it. We have used it for several years with great results and zero issues. ... show more

  • A little messy
Size: 3 Pound (Pack of 1)
I got this food at Petco when I first purchased my guinea pigs and they were picky as youngsters and picked the pellets out of the fruit and extras. I always wanted to try it again now that they’re older so to avoid Walmart, I got it as a special treat for them. Now they’re almost 3 and they pick out all the good stuff and leave the pellets ironically lol they dig in the bowl for it and make a huge mess so I probably won’t purchase it again as so much went to waste when sweeping up their cage. Still, it had has lot of good stuff in it so I’d still recommend it but they didn’t seem to fancy the pellets as much. ... show more
