I was looking for a camera bag that I could use when shooting my son's soccer games. For these games I typically use my Canon r5 full frame mirrorless camera and 70-200 with 1.4 teleconverter. My other bags were either to big and bulky or could not accommodate the length of the camera and lens without having to disassemble and reassemble for each game. This bag worked perfectly for my purposes. The camera and lens combo fit perfectly allowing me to quickly stow it or use it as needed. I purchased the camo blackout version full size (not mini). I can also confirm that the bag I received was the V2 as it had all of the V2 upgrades. I had delayed in purchasing this bag because I could not confirm which version was being sold. I decided to just purchase it and see what showed up and was glad it was the V2. The padding was good on all sides and comes with a Velcro divider that doubles as a cushion for the top. It has plenty of well thought out accessory storage, a rain fly if needed and quality zippers and overall great fit and finish. I have not used the shoulder strap for long periods of time, but when I did use it found it to be comfortable and it held the bag close to my body vs. flopping around. I am very happy with this bag and will use it for travel trips and when shooting sports or wildlife when I don't need a full assortment of lenses. ... show more

    • Unique size but questionable value

I bought this bag specifically to carry my Canon R5 or R3 w/ 100-500 attached while hiking. I was attracted to it's unique form factor that lends itself to a long hike by not getting in the way or adding too much weight. It makes it easy to carry and access your camera on the trail. Unfortunately, this was not to be in my case. While this bag will barely hold the R5 with 100-500 attached (including hood) , the R3 doesn't fit at all with any lens -- attached or not. If the bag was an inch longer and a couple inches wider maybe. That should give you an idea of the interior space - it's spacious for a small body, but forget about bigger ones. I did not use this bag -- returned it moments after I recieved it. But here are a few impressions it made on me. That bag desgin itself is excellent. I loved the camo fabric, it would have been perfect for hikes. The fabric is typical ripstop nylon and seems durable. The zippers though are the weak link. I found them "sticky" & stubborn, unable to move fluidly like zippers on Peak Design bags do. That's a problem because when I need to pull my camera out quickly every second counts. That cardinal will just mock me as it flies away. The strap is another sore point. While its adjustable, it's just the "old school" style where you have to pull out slack here and tug there to tighten. That's OK for a discount bag. But premium bags, again like Peak Design should have a quick adjust "friction doubler" strap where it's and easy lift and pull or push. That gets to the price. $100 is a bit steep for a bag this size with no real premium features. I might have been tempted to keep the bag just to use with the R5 if it was around $65 or even the $100 I paid if it had been slightly bigger and had a decent zipper and strap. Perhaps Hex is comparing this bag to the Chrome Kadet, which is similar in size. But that bag too is overpriced for what it is. That's a $40 bag at best as it has zero padding or structure at all, basically paying for a label. Hopefully we'll see improvements in Hex's next version. If they make these upgrades I'll take another look for sure. ... show more

This bag came in and I had high hopes this would be a great everyday bag for my Sony a6300. This Bag held up to my high expectations and then some! This bag is water resistant and comes with a rain shield tucked away. The easy and sturdy zippers keep everything safe until needed for a quick open to get that perfect shot. The interior is roomy enough, my only gripe is that the moveable panels sometimes don’t stick with the Velcro quite in the positions you want, but can be manipulated into place snuggly. Lastly the design of the bag is awesome, it’s not something that screams it’s a camera bag and makes my camera easier to carry while hiking or shooting within cities. I also am a big fan of the camo design choices. Overall this bag is a great first bag for someone like myself with one camera, batteries, and two lenses. ... show more
