    • Incredibly Well-designed, Highly-functional, Multi-use Egg Incubator
I've now had three different egg incubators and this is now my favorite. Foremost, it's super easy to assemble and disassemble (for maintenance, which is a bonus) and it's made well enough to be handled in that way, without fracturing the casing or interior insulated areas (which was a problem for other, lesser quality incubators). The housing itself is far thicker (nearly 3x thicker) than all of my past versions. Most importantly to me, is the ability of this incubator to self-regulate it's internal humidity. I've lost dozes and dozens of eggs in past incubators, often due to poorly regulated inside humidity. This one has an entire system in place, to draw in and disperse water, as needed, unlike any other incubator I've had. In the past, I've had to micro-manage the process (and proper humidity, in my opinion, is more important than even maintaining a well-regulated temperature. So HUGE plus on that front and by the way, it works beautifully, in that regard. Anyhow, the control panel is very intelligently engineered and allows you to quickly manage every feature, from egg rolling frequency, to the temperature, to the desired humidity level. I also like the simplicity, yet effectiveness, of the egg rolling system. It's just well designed and super simple to maintain. I also appreciate the ability to roll/incubate a variety of egg sizes, even down to our quail eggs. I cannot (yet) speak to how it handles duck eggs, as we have not purchased our ducks yet but I've now begun using this incubator to hatch a batch of chicken and quail eggs, all at the same time, which I couldn't do before in my previous incubators. Although the candler works fine, I do not use it, as I have a much higher-end, hand-held version that I've fallen in love with, as it has an awesome stabilizer cup, atop the flashlight end, making the process very safe and super effective at identifying what stage the egg incubation process is at. Anyhow, back to the incubator: the dual power option - DC and AC - is just convenient and again, alludes to the well-thought design. Whoever designed this product, definitely had experience with the PROPER way to incubate eggs successfully, or at least, had a great deal of user feedback during development, before putting it into production. Overall, I could not possibly be happier with this product and therefore, HIGHLY recommend it to anyone who doesn't want to experience the sorrow and frustration of losing half or more of your precious, fertilized eggs, after spending many, many hours monitoring it all to ensure (hopeful) success. ... show more

I'm planning to rear my own queen bees and will use this to finish them off in an controlled environment. The temp control has a MANUAL setting allowing me to dial in my temp precisely and it does a very good job of holding it. It also has a humidity feature and allows a remote bottle to feed a trickle of water to a trough below. This isn't controlled in any way but does keep the moisture level at about 70-75%. That's a bit higher than I need so I plan to make an adjustable vent in the lid. It does seem to smell like plastic coming from the heating element. There is also no on/off switch so you'll just pull the plug to shut it off. I've kept the Styrofoam shipping shell and plan to use it's 12VDC input option to keep it on during transport in the back of my car. Overall a very useful incubator. ... show more

This incubator not only has a pretty large capacity, but is also packed with so many features that ACTUALLY. WORK! The temperature control is consistent and appears to be accurate, but the humidity control is really out of this world good. I've never had an incubator control humidity on its own (well), which used to lead to some wild fluctuations. This one is more steady. Although I haven't used 12v supply on my first time around, I think it could be incredibly valuable (I mean, life-saving for the eggs) if there's a power failure, even a brief outage, to have it hooked up to a backup battery. A spare car battery could keep it going for a while. My ducks are developing nicely and I can't wait for hatch time in less than a week! My only complaint about this incubator is that there isn't as much visibility, especially in the middle, because of the solid color lid. But since this is due to the lid being a major housing of the whole operation I understand. It's also just a large lid to have to move around when handling/candling the eggs. ... show more

The included instructions are very useful- clearly walking through the entire setup and use. I have used several Automatic Incubators over the years and really like this full featured Incubator, The programming is easy to use, once set the Incubator maintains Temperature, Egg Turning, and Overall Time Remaining for you. The Instructions give times for different activities to take place during the incubation period, Including when to remove the rollers, spraying the eggs, etc. making this one of the easiest Incubators that I have ever used. I gave the Hethya Automatic 36 Egg Incubator a Full Five Stars. The incubator is well designed, easy to use, and functions perfectly. Our hatching rate using this Incubator was 85.2% for the early Hatching Season, well above our multi-year average of 81.7% for the same period. Very Nice. ... show more
