I was using a brush kind of like this but cleaning it wasn’t as easy, it pushed the hair up instead of retracting the brush to pull the hair off. I was hesitant to use it because it was “pointy” since I did not get the sensitive skin one. But I tested it on my arm and it was totally okay as long as you don’t use excess pressure. We bought this primarily for our long haired cat and wow!!! Amazing! The small pile (photoed) is from brushing day 2. But what amazed us about this brush of is how much hair it took from my short hair cat (big pile). We have NEVER had this much hair come off of him, it was a night and day difference. It even worked on our short hair dog (not as well but it helped)! 10/10 recommend!! So easy to clean and if you bribe your cats it’s even better! Able to brush them in less than 5 minutes, with immediate results and not disturbing them for too long. Note for long haired cats: if they have any matting, be careful, it will pull the mats. I suggest going through with a mat hair cutter first then brushing for best results

My daughter-in-law has a very large dog with a very heavy coat. When I babysit him I always give him a good brushing and get almost a full garbage bag of hair each time. And hair flies everywhere! I saw a similar brush advertised and liked the fact that hair stays in the brush until you push the button to clean it. I thought why not try it? I saw this brush on Amazon, and at a much better price, so I got it. Talk about a miracle! This brush works so well on his heavy coat and rather than fly everywhere, the hair stays in the brush until I push the button to clean it. The teeth are long enough to get through that heavy coat down to the undercoat. I can’t believe how much hair I can brush off him without making a mess with dog hair flying everywhere. I can fill up a kitchen garbage bag without making too big a mess and he looks wonderful after a good brushing. And he loves getting brushed now. I’m amazed that this brush does such a good job. And she has told her sister and many of her friends about this find. I highly recommend this brush. It is well worth the price and does a great job. And the dog looks great!

We have a Yorkie mix and in the summer we keep his hair short since it's so hot but keep some length on his tail. When I received this we opened it up to test. The push button feature to clean the hair seems to work perfectly BUT the bristles on the standard brush are INCREDIBLY scratchy. My dog backed away a bit after running this down his back and I don't use much pressure since his hair is pretty short. I ran this down my arm and it actually hurts..a bit like little needles scraping your skin. We're going to return this and try the sensitive brush which has the coated tips on its bristles and see if that works better! Crossing our fingers because we don't really need a deshedding tool since his hair is more 'human like' and there's not really a thick undercoat. Great concept and probably perfect for thicker coats but just didn't work for our fur baby.

This is my favorite dog and cat brush. I have a variety of different brushes but this one is my favorite. It's lightweight, feels comfortable to hold and use it, durable, inexpensive, easy to remove hair/fur due to the push of a button that retracts the bristles, and soft feeling on skin (but still gets down to the skin) due to plastic tipped bristles. I bought the small brush for delicate skin since I have 2 cats and 1 dog who all have some type of skin/coat issue. I'll use this to trim my dogs paws since it requires a slicker brush, and overall grooming for my cats and dog.
