I've read a lot of reviews and watched a few review videos, and I wanted to leave this review to help those who buy these The screws are self tapping, no drilling, no issues, take the bolt off the included screws, slide it into the slot on the shelf for the bolt, put the screw in and twist. It will pierce and bend the metal as designed. There is no need to do anything else. The shelves work great, hold stuff great, all was great. The instructions are terrible, and I expect cause most bad reviews, not understanding how it's designed. ... show more

These tension shelves are perfect for the odd space opposite my stackable washer/dryer. I also like the fact it's just tension so no drilling which is ideal for apartment. They seem pretty sturdy so far they are holding 16 cans perfectly fine. I probably wouldn't add much more weight than that tho. They are a little tricky at first but pretty self explanatory to figure out. I put them up and put everything on the shelves in about 30 min. If they get weak and fall down I'll update this review but so far so good! Would recommend. ... show more

    • Doesn’t work as expected

At first I was excited to use and followed the instructions. After install, less then 5 mins later I heard it fall down. The sticky pads did not stick to the wall. I had to put screws into it to hold in place. Not the best design as it doesn’t want to fit snug against the wall but with screws it holds. ... show more

At first I thought this product was really great. It went easily into the closet. Then the issues started. It really is a two-person job to try and get the rack installed. Once installed, it's very hard to use the plastic mounting strips and then tighten to the correct tension needed. I had my shelf installed for about a week and then it fell down. Reinstalled and tightened and it seemed to be well. Then about a month later it slipped forward. I thought this was odd since I had installed slip strips on one side. Looked in the closet to notice that slip strip slid down the wall. Product does what it says, but I would be looking for something else with better tension ... show more

After buying 2 to try out in and RV closet I just purchased 3 more. I don't use the adhesive tabs because I want to move around as needed. They hold up great and created SO much more useful space. Do yourself a favor and toss the instructions. Just slide together and twist the knobs to secure.

    • Sturdy and functional

This expandable shelf is exactly what I needed. I wanted it for the far side of a closet to store some extra items and keep them off the floor. It’s simple to install and seems quite sturdy. The tension poles adjust well, and it feels like it isn't going to slip or go anywhere. It does come with these extra peel-off sticky things you could use for additional support, but I didn't find them necessary. I also like that you could put hangers on it if you wanted to or put the plastic sheet over the bars if you are concerned about tiny items falling in between them. In terms of aesthetics, you can tell it's an adjustable shelf. There is the white plastic part where the two sets of bars connect, and those white knobs to adjust it are quite visible. It’s not seamless like most normal shelves are. However, for someone like me who is not particularly good at installing things with drills and such, especially in tight spaces, this is great. And seeing that it is at the far end of the inside of a closet, it doesn't really matter. I’ll take function and ease of installation over form. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. This is a really great shelf, but because of some review saying it was weak in the middle, I measured my space to be 37 inches and therefore got the larger shelf, so there was as much overlap in the center of the shelf with the metal as possible. The directions are terrible so I made a video. You need a drill to pre-drill the holes and you need to know that the bolt comes off and slips into a little hole on. That’s how it tightens. Also, make sure when you measure it you measure it with it at its shortest distance at the tightening end so that when you tighten it, you can get it to the perfect tension. Anyway, I made a quick video for you. There’s no way this is coming down. It’s very strong but you have to do it right ... show more
