Description

DJControl Mix is a wireless 2-deck DJ controller specially designed for use with iOS and Android smartphones. It connects to the user’s iOS or Android smartphone via Bluetooth Low Energy and controls the djay app. From the Manufacturer DJControl Mix helps users learn how to mix: its ultra- low latency, precise controls (jog wheels and faders) and extensive set of features (pads, as well as volume and filter/bass control knobs) provide DJs with the same mixing possibilities as professional-grade DJ hardware. DJs can play their mixes out loud on a Bluetooth speaker (not included) connected to their smartphone, using the smartphone’s headphones output, or on their smartphone’s built-in speaker.

    • There is NO RCA audio input/outputs, Bluetooth only. Using DJAY PC software is cumbersome.

As it specifically mentions, this is best used with a Tablet or Phone running the DJAY smartphone software. That said, it is possible to use with a PC running the Windows DJAY software but Hercules does not include it in the list of devices with pre-mapped button configurations. As such you must add it as a universal MIDI device and then map all of the buttons yourself, which is extremely cumbersome and not something a novice is going to be very familiar with. This is a bit of a disappointment since it is branded as a beginner/novice level device and I feel like it would have been pretty easy for Hercules to just include it as a supported device for their Windows DJAY software. I bought this for my 9 year old daughter who is very tech savvy and she had no problem using it on her tablet, but when she wanted use her PC to mix and save music to upload onto YT, I had to step in and handle the Windows configuration. Another contentious point for this device is that it has no physical input or outputs, it only uses Bluetooth as a means to convey the audio. It would have been nice if they included an input port for audio so that it wasn't so heavily reliant on streaming audio services (which generally require a subscription). Pulling together music and sounds from multiple sources and files is just easier done on a PC than on a tablet, and in retrospect I probably should have chose a different device that was more suited to offline audio or PC use. This gripe I have isn't necessarily a failure of the device itself, it performs its INTENDED purpose, but Hercules could have easily expanded the capabilities and supported systems with very minor changes. In summation, great beginner device, my daughter loves using it for fun on her smartphone and tablet, but if you think you may want to use it with a PC or want to use a library of music or sounds from more dynamic sources, maybe look at other devices. ... show more

I used to DJ…but never stopped loving mixing in my head as a danced. This compact controller simply allows me to indulge into my world musically using just my phone and headphones without being the need to buy expensive DJ gear! It’s just so I can practice blending on the go or wherever I feel the inspiration to listen to music like at an airport and in the plane. I like this little plastic toy. and yes.. that’s exactly what it feels like in your hands and by looking at it…..but it’s actually very effective! I actually used it to DJ my cousins adult birthday event in St Croix. I used a lectern to place the Hercules controller on and my iPad and a 3.5 to XLR to connect to their speakers! I was impressed by the functionality and portability of this controller. If we’re I were to dive back into djing-I’d definitely upgrade to a more formidable controller -but to simply practice and study musical blends on the go…this is it! I had issues getting this set up right to work. They make it sound simple by just connecting the Bluetooth but you have to go in the app and switch the settings. The box only shows a few tiny pictures that didn’t make sense to me. I figured it out by watching a YT video. I guess if you are young it was easy to figure out since the younger generation has trouble with words but easier understands emojis and pics. To me instructions include words. Otherwise the product seems fine. I will be on YT again to figure out how to use this thing. ... show more

So I discovered it is truly total audio liberation to have a mini mixer that has simultaneous wireless music track input, and wireless sound output. If this was itself or had a case that made the mixer water resistant ,gave it wireless headphone output, and had built in mobile power pack this mixer would literally be approaching the perfect ultimate machine. ... show more
