I bought both the 300lb and the 180lb. I tested both with a hanging scale to see what their breakpoint is. The 180lb broke at 60lb, which upset me, but when I researched those lb ratings that seems standard. Apparently the rating are based on line held in clamps at each end, because tying a knot greatly weakens the line. So 60lb for a 180lb line isn't bad. I tested the 300lb line up to 80lb but wasn't able to break it. Good enough for my purposes. The color is very helpful for judging depth and the line seems good quality. ... show more
