So being the guy who is usually responsible for setting up all of the “beach stuff” before everyone actually goes out to start the day, I have finally found an answer to getting time to enjoy the beach myself. Years of hauling bulky and heavy “pop up tents” (that always break) always gave me trouble trying to set up and on top of that having to haul tent leg weights down to the beach to keep the tent from blowing away was always a pain as well. This summer I wanted to change up the dreaded beach setup routine. And change it I did. I found this product and although it looks a little too simple to be real sturdy, it held up perfectly and was the easiest setup I’ve ever done. The first day it took me 10-15 minutes to figure out the best way to set it up and remain sturdy, then from that day on it took me 5 minutes to set it up every day after. Breakdown is a breeze as well. The shade provided was perfect as it can fit 4-6 beach chairs easy. It also had its share of wind running through it. I wouldn’t recommend on a severely windy day, bit was impressed how Well it did with a good 15-20 mph ocean breeze. Since we had a large group I actually purchased 2 and we set them up sided by side. I had a whole bunch of people walk by and could here them say, “oh that’s a nice setup.” Yes it was... no more struggling with metal tent frames that ALWAYS bend and break. The tear down at the end of a tireing day was a snap! Just one word of advice, after several days of use check the plastic balls on the top of the aluminum support poles, as they are screwed on and can loosen, I had one fall off (luckily I found it in the sand) but tightening these every few days is not a bad idea. If you happen to lose the plastic balls the support pole will rip through your canopy fabric if you don’t realize it fell off. (Problem can also be solved with a drop of blue locktite). The media could not be loaded. I used this canopy all weekend and it is simply great! Everyone was asking me about it and where they could get one. I've researched all the brands from Neso to Ziggy to Otentik. Red Suricata is by far the best because: it comes with 4 poles (a big deal), the poles are pointed so you can stick them in the ground easily, it comes with toggle straps to tie around the top of the pole for security (see pic); and it comes with stakes! These features makes Red Suricata highly functional too. I used it in many different settings over memorial day weekend and it came in handy 3 out of 3 days. See pics for different setups. I love this and plan on using it every weekend. Plus customer service is fantastic! This product does take a setup or two but once you get that it has to be fully stretched out, it's super easy. So, Pro's and Con's Pro: 1. Easy to set up, takes about 5 mins if you're by yourself while using the tent stakes or maybe 10-15min.s if you're at the beach and using sand to weight the corners down. 2. Pop-up poles are awesome to work with since you can fold them for easy carry and the bottom end is pointed so you can drive it down the ground and not worry about getting sand inside it. Also, the top part has a rubber ball kind of, to prevent tearing on the material. 3. The cloth/tarp is made out of spandex material so its breathable and stretchable. While it does provide shade, it does not totally block out the sun. It's a whole lot comfortable underneath it though rather than baking under the sun. 4. I love how they provided tent stakes so in the event that you're not at the beach and you don't have sand to fill your corner bags, you can stake it down and still secure it. Con's: I can't see any as of now, I have had it for about a 3 weeks now and only used it once. The product itself does not seem cheap and looks and feels solid. The poles and stakes are made out of aluminum so its strong and light and does not rust and corrode. I will post an updated review after a year and see how it holds up. For the meantime I'm pretty impressed and happy with my purchase. I hope this review helped you. Thanks for reading! ... show more

I drive on the beach 3 - 4 days a week & was considering a metal framed canopy & decided to give this product a try... OMG !!! I am soooooo glad I did... This canopy makes beach umbrellas & metal framed canopies totally obsolete... It's lightweight, takes up no space with its nifty storage bag, EASY to put up (under five minutes), & provides enough shade for probably 4 - 6 beach chairs... I love it & will be buying another one... I also love that the color coordinates so well with my Jeep (LOL)... I always have a shovel with me because I drive on the beach - so filling the bags & burying them (only if needed) is a snap... a couple quick shovelfuls in each bag & you're ready to insert the poles & relax... BTW, I think I read some negative comments about the poles - these aluminum poles are VERY sturdy & I'm sure will give years of service... If someone "snapped" one the first time they used it they had to be jumping on it !!! Great product - will buy again !!! (Oh wait before you go.... I did want to add, this canopy stretched out & set-up uses considerable real estate - so if you're on a super crowded beach you need to get there early to stake your claim - otherwise, this would NOT work on those beaches where you can barely walk between the blankets & towels to get to the water...) I've attached photos with a two pole configuration, perfect for when the sun is lower in the sky... and also with a four pole configuration...) ... show more
