This is an initial impression since we have not flown them yet, but out of the package they seem decent for the price. The biggest thing to note is that the design does not look quite as good in person as it does in the listing photos. The face details in particular look simpler and less polished than expected. They are still fun-looking, just not as sharp as advertised. The materials seem fine for a basic kite set. The string feels sturdy, and nothing immediately looks flimsy. For a two-pack at this price, these seem like a good casual option for a beach trip or park day where losing one would not be a big deal.

These are really cute kites. I love dragons, so I guess I’m an easy sell. One kite has a more detailed print than the other, as reflected in the product photos. Consider whether your kids will fight over the nicer one; I don’t have to share, so I’m satisfied, given that the product photos are accurate. Both kites are basic single-line kites. Assembly instructions are bare bones, but that’s ok as assembly is minimal: plastic rods link together under each wing, with a velcro tab at the tail to keep the spine taut. The warnings did make me chuckle: you’re not Ben Franklin so don’t fly these in a lightning storm. The tail is a separate piece tied on with string. I found it strange that there was a 12” gap between the body and the tail, so I cut it off and retied it closer together. The plastic rods that comprise the frame are thin and flimsy; they won’t survive in gale-force winds. The winder is a plastic D-shape style, and the fabric is a non-ripstop synthetic. The materials may be cheap, but then, these are entry-level kites. Cheap materials keep the overall price down: $17 for the set seems totally appropriate. Perfect for flying once or twice each summer. You can always upgrade later if you fall in love with the hobby and find yourself kiting more frequently.

I love these kites! I will be taking them to fly with my Tween grandkids over Easter (weather permitting.) They are bright and big, and have a fun tail too. (They do not come with the string...most kites don't.) I can't wait to watch the kids fly these at the park. I will update with pics if I remember to take some, but plan on this being a wonderful flight as they are brightly colored and look very durable! (If not I will definitely update.)

This HENGDA KITE two-piece dragon kite set turned out to be a fantastic outdoor activity for both kids and adults. The colorful dragon designs are vibrant and eye-catching in the sky, and having two kites in the set is great because two people can fly them at the same time. It made for a really fun afternoon at the park with the family. The kites feel well made. The polyester fabric is strong and tear-resistant, and the fiberglass rods give them a sturdy structure without making them heavy. Even when the wind picked up a bit, the kites stayed stable and didn’t feel like they would fall apart. One thing I really appreciated is how quick they are to assemble. It took less than a minute to get each kite ready to fly. The handle is comfortable to hold, and the string feels strong and secure, so you don’t have to worry about it snapping while the kite is in the air. Flight performance was surprisingly good. Even with a light breeze, the kite lifted easily and stayed up without constant adjustment. I purchased this 2-pack for my kids and they’ve had a lot of fun with them. The dragon/dinosaur design is really colorful and eye-catching, and the kites look great when they’re up in the air. They were fairly easy to get flying, even for beginners, which made it a great outdoor activity for the whole family. Once the wind picked up a bit, they stayed up nicely and the kids were excited watching them fly. The material feels durable and the size is perfect for kids to handle. Overall, these are a fun and affordable outdoor toy that’s great for parks, the beach, or just a windy afternoon outside. My kids really enjoyed them.

I got this two-piece colorful dragon kite set for an 8 and 10 year old and it was sadly a short lived experience. The kites themselves are truly beautiful and impressively large, which made flying them a lot of fun. There’s something magical about flying kites, but especially so with kites this big. Putting them together was really easy and just took a couple minutes. The frame seems well constructed and held together well. We had little trouble getting both kites flying. The kids were thrilled, and even I was reluctant to pass it off because I’d never flown one this big and it really was fun. Unfortunately, even with adult supervision, the kites suffered rough landings right away and the strings became a tangled mess. We couldn’t figure out how to untangle or restring them properly, and we weren’t sure about cutting and putting new lines back on. I think this was probably user error, but it was still disappointing that both kites ended up grounded. Overall, these kites are a good value at $10 each and provide an incredible outdoor experience that even adults will enjoy. If you can avoid tangling the strings, or know how to fix them and have the proper tools with you, you’ll have fun flying these kites.
