I had to cut mine in half with the type of helmet I am using so it didn't obscure normal vision. It was too tall and covered too much space on the inside of the visor and interfered too much in the line of sight. I put it on the inside of a HJC i31 3/4 helmet with a full face clear plastic visor. Initial installation and test of the item revealed it was too tall. After I cut it in half and reinstalled, works great to help keep the sun out of the eyes, while not blocking vision. 5 stars even though I had to modify it, it still is doing the job it was intended for. I would have preferred a smoke color tint instead, but seems there are slim pickings on the internet for a specific item like this to go on the inside of a helmet visor. ... show more

I bought one of these because my new helmet doesn't have a drop-down sun visor, and sunglasses are uncomfortable inside my helmet. I have a Fly Tourist helmet with a taller than normal eye port - about double what is shown in the product photo. The Sunblocker was easy to install and did its job but it wasn't wide enough on its own to shade my eyes they way I needed it to. Solution? I bought a second Sunblocker and installed it right below the first one! I hope you can see it in the attached photo. The line you might see bisecting the two shades is simply where they overlap by about 1/8 inch. The line is well above my line of vision and doesn't bother me. I've also attached a photo of me wearing the helmet so you can see the positioning relative to my eyes. The shades don't come down over my eyes, but serve as shades to block the worst of sun glare on a bright day. Perfect for my needs. ... show more

    • Works with a pin lock insert
This is the second sun blocker I have purchased. There are very limited options to block sun in your eyes early or late in the day, unless you have a helmet with a peak visor attached. This piece does a reasonable job but does let some light through, which is good as it does take up about 20% of your shield height so you can still look up to see traffic lights etc. This about the best you can do without resorting to black tape across the top of your shield. I was not sure if my pinlock insert would work with this installed as it goes lower than the top edge of the pinlock insert seal, but after letting the sun blocker dry I installed the pinlock insert and the pinlock still does it’s job. I took the shield off my Shoei Neotech helmet for installation as it seems too much work to install in place as per the instructions. I worked out most of the micro bubbles and do not really see any from the inside but looking at the shield with the helmet off I do see some small bubbles, but not a deal breaker and purely cosmetic.     • Good visibility on sunset rides.
I like to ride on sunsets and occasionally find myself riding into the night, where a tinted visor becomes unpractical and hard to see with. Rather than carrying another visor around with me, I use this sun blocker which blocks out the sun and still lets me see through the clear side when night hits. Installing it wasn’t too hard, and once it dried well and I cleaned it with a spray with soapy water and a microfiber towel, the entire visor + this blocker was very very clear. This lets me see everything in true color through my clear visor but block out harsh sun with the sun strip. ... show more

    • Save your money. One product that is thoroughly unimpressive.
I had seen these advertised for years in motorcycle magazines. Bought one for my helmet and one for my wife’s helmet. Installation is pretty easy, following the directions. On both helmets, the material needed a bit of trimming along the lower edge. What we both experienced is that for the item to be functional, it has to extend far enough down to block the sun. I so doing, without fiddling with the helmet’s Position we were looking through the material. The optical clarity of the material is ++AWFUL++. It’s like looking through glasses that haven t been cleaned in five years. On a recent two week motorcycle trip, I removed the Helmet Sun Blocker and put a thin strip of 3M black electrical tape across the top edge of the face shield. Works great, and it’s above my line of vision. Threw the HSB’s in the trash. Good riddance! 🚽 ... show more

    • Amazing, yet so simple a MUST HAVE
This thing is fantastic! I purchased an adventure helmet with a visor or "beak" to protect my eyes from sunglare at sunrise and dusk, yet the beak would catch wind turbulence and create tremendous buffeting and vibration on my helmet and head. I got rid of that helmet and in desperation I purchased this item and attached it to the inside of the visor, actually after (and on top) of my adhesive anti-fog shield (which is not a pin-lock). This thing works amazingly well!! I do wear sunglasses under my clear visor when the sun is bright and at a shallow angle, and with this thing on and the sunglasses I don't fear the sun glare anymore. This thing is a MUST, and I do not understand why helmet manufacturers do not offer a visor with a narrow tinted band at the top, like this. I do wish it was a tad darker. ... show more

Great product, so good I ordered a second one for an additional helmet. Easy to fit and great for winter days when the sun is low and the integrated sun visor blocks out too much light. Excellent service too; I ordered from the UK via Amazon who didnt seal the package it properly so I received an empty package.
