Description

"Permanent, yet transferable, sun protection for helmets." Helmets which have an internal or external "drop down" sun shade only make up 72% of the industry BUT they don't have the needed UV properties. This still leaves 100% in need of an aftermarket sun visor. Ever wonder why helmets with internal drop down visors are NOT Snell approved? And they are dangerous when entering tunnels while trying to find the lever to raise the tint. The transferable Helmet Sunblocker fits the bill nicely and everybody loves the 100% UV protection which inferior imitations cannot claim. Plus, a lot of riders use it in conjunction with their drop-down shade, as well, for the ULTIMATE in sun protection. It even works with Pinlock systems! The Helmet Sunblocker is an absolute "must have" for serious riders! Originally developed for aviation, the Helmet Sunblocker is a laser cut plasticized, polymer film which installs on the INSIDE of your visor, quickly and easily, by using dish soap and water as a surfactant. It remains in place as long as you choose to keep it there, yet can be transferred to other helmets, if needed. This transparent polymer film lets in light, but not the glare. Installs above your line of sight, thus keeping your eyes in the shade, ALL the time. It does not interfere with night vision or riding through tunnels, so there is never a need to remove it. The Helmet Sunblocker stays in place permanently, so it's always there when you need it... The moment you close your visor, your eyes become instantly relaxed. The Helmet Sunblocker casts a shadow over your eyes and face, keeping your face in the shade all the time. And it keeps your helmet much cooler on hot days! No more riding with one hand blocking the sun's glare. No more squinting. No more sunglasses. No more sunburned faces. At the end of the day, your eyes are as relaxed as when you first started. You will appreciate the Helmet Sunblocker every time you put on your helmet.

  • Easy to fit, does the job very well, excellent customer service
Great product, so good I ordered a second one for an additional helmet. Easy to fit and great for winter days when the sun is low and the integrated sun visor blocks out too much light. Excellent service too; I ordered from the UK via Amazon who didnt seal the package it properly so I received an empty package. I notified the seller who responded immediately and dispatched a replacement all the way to the UK. Fantastic service - couldn't ask for more. ... show more

  • If glare is an issue when riding, it’s a great solution! If glare is an issue when riding, it’s a great solution!
This item was delivered quickly. Most importantly I was extremely pleased with how simple it was to install which was a concern. The sunblock shad really helps when traveling westward in the late afternoon. Even with out the sun it helps my eyes relax! Good buy.

  • Works with a pin lock insert
This is the second sun blocker I have purchased. There are very limited options to block sun in your eyes early or late in the day, unless you have a helmet with a peak visor attached. This piece does a reasonable job but does let some light through, which is good as it does take up about 20% of your shield height so you can still look up to see traffic lights etc. This about the best you can do without resorting to black tape across the top of your shield. I was not sure if my pinlock insert would work with this installed as it goes lower than the top edge of the pinlock insert seal, but after letting the sun blocker dry I installed the pinlock insert and the pinlock still does it’s job. I took the shield off my Shoei Neotech helmet for installation as it seems too much work to install in place as per the instructions. I worked out most of the micro bubbles and do not really see any from the inside but looking at the shield with the helmet off I do see some small bubbles, but not a deal breaker and purely cosmetic. Overall very good though. ... show more

  • Too tall, but modification works. Too tall, but modification works.
I had to cut mine in half with the type of helmet I am using so it didn't obscure normal vision. It was too tall and covered too much space on the inside of the visor and interfered too much in the line of sight. I put it on the inside of a HJC i31 3/4 helmet with a full face clear plastic visor. Initial installation and test of the item revealed it was too tall. After I cut it in half and reinstalled, works great to help keep the sun out of the eyes, while not blocking vision. 5 stars even though I had to modify it, it still is doing the job it was intended for. I would have preferred a smoke color tint instead, but seems there are slim pickings on the internet for a specific item like this to go on the inside of a helmet visor. ... show more

  • A must have on any helmet
This is a must have for a bike rider. Early morning and evening sun can impact visibility significantly. Easy to install.

  • Save your money. One product that is thoroughly unimpressive.
I had seen these advertised for years in motorcycle magazines. Bought one for my helmet and one for my wife’s helmet. Installation is pretty easy, following the directions. On both helmets, the material needed a bit of trimming along the lower edge. What we both experienced is that for the item to be functional, it has to extend far enough down to block the sun. I so doing, without fiddling with the helmet’s Position we were looking through the material. The optical clarity of the material is ++AWFUL++. It’s like looking through glasses that haven t been cleaned in five years. On a recent two week motorcycle trip, I removed the Helmet Sun Blocker and put a thin strip of 3M black electrical tape across the top edge of the face shield. Works great, and it’s above my line of vision. Threw the HSB’s in the trash. Good riddance! 🚽 ... show more

  • Helmet sun Blocker Works!
Easy to apply to the inside of the face shield. Had some problems getting the air bubbles out, but once in position and it dried, no issues. Works as advertised helping to block the sunlight at those certain times of morning and evening!

  • Kind of works
Too wide, sits in your line of sight. I had to cut it in half and place at 12 o'clock. Doesn't work with max vision pin locks, I was unable to get a good seal. Usefulness and Value is questionable
