Every year I end up replacing my chain link fence aluminum ties because squirrels would chew them down due to need to wear down their growing teeth. It is really bothersome to replace the soft aluminum ties that comes in a pack of 30 for about $8-9 dollars. See my pics. So I got these stainless steel flat ties with this tool and it works great to replace my aluminum ties that were chew down and some completely chewed off. With these flat stainless steel ties which should be water resistant time will tell how they will hold out. But so far it looks to work well. Let's see if squirrels will chew thru these.

Look I'm a zip tie addict, I try to solve all problems with zip ties and these metal ones take things to an entirely different level. I've had cases where even the highest rated plastic zip ties would snap resulting in my having to use a bunch of them for added strength. This worked if I had the space to do so but also looked bad as well. These metal ones can take a lot and the use of the tool makes them extremely easy to setup and use. Now the one thing I will say is while the cutters work well to trim the tie it does leave a sharp edge so I hit that with my cordless Dremel tool to take the edge off but if you don't want to bother just keep that in mind if skin will brush against the cut end because it will cut you. Ask my forearm.
