    • What a pleasure to use the right tool for the job!
Had to replace a fan motor on the outside compressor unit for one of our air conditioners. Looking at the rusted shaft, I knew that the hardest part of the job would be getting the fan blade assembly off of the shaft. This puller unit was reasonably priced and looked like it would get to me quickly. I was very pleased with the ease that this tool pulled the blade hub off of the rusted motor shaft. It saved me probably half an hour of swearing and sweating if I had tried to use vise grips and a hammer. A couple of tips: put a few drops of a light penetrating oil on the motor shaft as it passes into the fan blade hub. Also put a thin film of oil on the rest of the rusty shaft. Put a drop or two of oil on the long screw that passes through the main body of the tool to make cranking that down easier. Also put the bolt that secures the fan hub to the motor shaft in a safe place, to keep from having to scrabble through the gravel or dirt... Update: Changing the fan motor increased the ability of the system to extract heat from the house, more than I expected it would. I guess the bearings on the old motor were really slowing it down! ... show more

I was struggling to remove a blower wheel from a direct drive motor. This tool did the job easily and with no damage to the blower or motor. One minor issue is that you may need to provide an extension to threaded ram in order to fully push the wheel off the shaft.

The blower motor on my old package unit failed. Removed the blower assembly, removed the set screw and tried pulling off the blower wheel. Wouldn't move. I tried yanking it off, torching it off, liquid wrenching it off, hammering it off, etc. Couldn't get it loose. So I bought this contraption and it came right off without any problem. Bought this tool to get a condenser fan hub off of my Lennox heat pump condenser. The fan was really seized on the motor shaft but I followed the directions and it took it right off. very cheap, but I will not use it often. Actually the center threaded shift bent while I was attempting my first pull, now the blower I was trying to take out, was probably 15 to 20 years old, so it was pretty much welded in. But my first time using the product? *they sent me a new one free of charge, very exceptional service ... show more
