I did feel the heat pad at first, but did get used to it. Feels like a bunchy sock under your toes, not so terrible, but it is definitely there. If you are the type that can't sleep with a cracker crumb in bed, these many bother you, but I use them for clearing snow and winter walking with the dog and after a bit you learn to ignore it. The material is super soft and stretchy. I have size 14 feet and have tried other heated socks that were way to tight, impossible to get on. I get at least 4 hours of heat on high at minus 10 to 20 degrees with 2 bars left. This is the first time in many years in North Dakota without painfully freezing cold toes. Love these socks! Looking forward to a tweak for the heat pad to make it less of an issue. ... show more

I received these socks a couple days ago, and have only worn them once, but my overall opinion is quite high. They have lots of cushion and are very soft, with a fine weave. I had to leave the power on low to keep my feet from getting overheated. Temp was in the 20s when I wore them. My one suggestion is that they wouldn’t be comfortable if you do much walking, as the wires embedded in the knit made my feet sore after a mile long walk. These socks would have been great, but no remote, didn't heat up well and XL is not very wide to get your foot in, so if you have wide feet these probably would not work for you. Thes should have had a remote but one did not come with the package.
