Sturdiness: it’s not winter here yet, but it seems to be well-made and thick the inner lining almost looks like a foil. I suspect to hold in any heat that the pad will give off. Ease of use: can you take it out of the box pop it open put in the support bases and then put the pad end and there is a little hole in the back that you were on the extension through I like that the extension cord is coiled an expandable and protected Cons: mild box is true to size I would’ve liked the entrance to be a little bit bigger but I guess it does not need to be too big so that it will maintain heat. I just hope the cats outside use it. Size: it seems smaller to me, but it’s definitely true to size. I need to buy another one. I would buy this product again, but get a bigger size I would say that this could hold easily two cats comfortably and probably more if they are cuddling to stay way warm Pad: the pad heated up of immediately. It feels warm. I’m sure it would feel warmer if I left it plugged in for quite a while to test how warm it will get. I bought this for a family of strays that live on our street, it was easy to assemble and seems pretty sturdy! There’s no cage or anything inside to keep its shape but the cats are able to sit on it without it collapsing. It’s well insulated, but I’ll probably cover it with something since the outside fabric isn’t completely water proof. It came with a little fabric bed for the bottom but we will probably fill it with stray as it gets colder ... show more

Looks good. Feels hefty. Will be using it in the winter and as it’s still September I can only rate that it is easy to put together and appears well made. Gave a 4 because I’ve not used the heater yet and the cats have not officially moved in. So far I think it will be great

The media could not be loaded. We had a lot of rain and wind recently and I knew the cat that has taken up residence on my deck would need shelter for rain and the winter cold since I'm unprepared to bring her inside. I came and researched here on Amazon and found this amazing little shelter. It was a great price and very easy to assemble. I love that it's all waterproof, even the heating pad, and my kitty has gone inside on cooler nights already. I'm sure she'll love the heat this winter. The description of the cat house shows the heat pad as being part of the cat house purchase. It was shown for both the heated and unheated houses. However, the unheated house comes without the heat pad. I just want the description changed to reflect the actual product.

    • You Don't Get The Heated Version Unless You Specifically Order It

The headline on the seller page says it is a heated shelter. It is, but unless you specifically order it you will get the unheated one. Just be sure which one you are ordering. Also, this shelter has only one door rather than the recommended two doors (for safety if the cat is suddenly confronted with a predator). The reasoning for that is that it will keep the shelter and cat warmer but clear plastic pieces over each door help with that and it is safer. I, a notorious non-DIYer, was able to put this together easily. That's a definite plus. And while the shelter appears to be quite sturdy it is basically reinforced and insulated cardboard. You'll want to keep it in a covered location like a porch, a barn or similar to help it work better and to last. It is also a good size so more than one cat can share. Recommended. ... show more
