I am thrilled with this Hearth & Harbor Crochet / Knitting organizer bag. Although it is designed for hand knitting or crochet projects, I ordered it for my 22-pin Addi circular knitting machine. It easily holds the machine, accessories, tools and yarn. I don’t even have to disassemble the machine to fit it in. I plan to take my Addi with me on trips out of town so I can work on small projects while I am away. This organizer was obviously designed by someone who put a lot of thought and practicality into it. The whole bag is made of a natural color heavy duty canvas. If it gets dirty, I should be able to just throw it in the washer, although I would probably not put it into the dryer. It is lined with what feels like smooth nylon or polyester. On the outside are 2 large pockets with elastic at the top for storing supplies or yarn. There is another double layer storage pocket that has little stitched down partitions on the outside layer for knitting needles, crochet hooks, pens or pencils. The bag closes with a heavy duty nylon double pull zipper that operates smoothly and opens up nearly the full circumference of the bag so you can get to the stuff on the inside easily. The top has a plastic reinforced webbing carry handle, and also has a detachable shoulder strap for hands free carrying. There is a D-ring tab at the bottom of the bag that you could attach a luggage tag to, but I just attached the little boxy rectangular shaped zippered accessory bag that was included with the organizer. That bag is 9” x 6” x 3” so you can fit a lot of items into it. The inside of the organizer has 6 elastic top pockets along the circumference of the bag for organizing yarn or other supplies. Additionally there are 6 eyelet holes in the top of the bag that you can feed your working yarn through so you don’t have to chase a ball of yarn all over the place when knitting or crocheting. The exterior pockets are each trimmed in a different contrasting color, either bright yellow, vivid purple or bright red. Their understated & adorable Hearth & Harbor logo uses the same color scheme for just the right decorative touch. I am so glad I ordered this. It will help me make out of town trips a lot less boring when I have downtime from planned activities. ... show more

Big enough to store a few skeins of yarn. I managed to fit at least six skeins of 100g yarn balls plus a set of six mini skeins of yarn inside along with a pair of knitting needles that are a size 20.0mm. I like that this bag has more yarn holes at the top (6) so you can feed more yarn through them especially if you are doing a project that requires you to change colors. The little bag that comes with it can fit all my crocheting supplies such as my different hooks, small scissors, and a small gauge ruler plus a tape measurer. The little bag hooks onto the big bag which I like so it can stay together so you don’t lose anything. The big bag has outside pockets for holding stuff and two little pockets for holding hooks and needles. It’s made of canvas like material so it’s very durable. It comes with a strap that you can attach anyway you like so you can carry different ways either like a handbag or a crossbody bag. ... show more

My daughter's yarn is always tangled dangerously around her room and in front of her door, like a technicolor spider web waiting to snare its next victim. That's why I got her this yarn-dispensing backpack, in hopes of keeping the "yarn spiders" confined to a safer, more limited space. To be honest, the styling could use some improvement. The rugged black and red construction make this backpack look like you'll be bringing your fiber arts projects onto the battlefield or up to your deer stand, not carrying it on the bus or to a knitting group. Of course, some fiber artists may appreciate the lack of overt "girliness," but it would be nice if there were at least some different color options. Even rugged people like color. The number of yarn compartments impressed me, since often yarn bags seem to have space for only a few colors at a time. I like that you could use this for storage as well as current projects. I also appreciate the options of carrying it as a backpack or by the handle, which makes it more versatile for different occasions. Overall, this is a well-made, sturdy yarn backpack, even if it could use a bit more style, and I think it will work wonders for taming the yarn in my teen daughter's room . . . if she ever stops crocheting long enough to actually use it. ... show more

I got this for my wife, who got back into crocheting, and is making a "temperature blanket". She wanted something to organize the yarn and tools and such. This bag was more than she was hoping for! This has plenty of storage, and the space and pockets are very usable. Crochet needles are well-organized and accessible. Plenty of space for other accessories. The bag is well-built. The size of the bag is large... I guess it depends on how much yarn you want to store! I'm fairly certain it's designed for your current project, and not for any long-term storage. The straps are well-placed and usable, as are the backpack straps. For the price, this is an excellent accessory for you or as a gift. ... show more

Got this for my daughter who loves to crochet. She easily fits 6-8 skeins of yarn, and it holds more hooks than she owns. The nice thing is it stays in the "wide " position so the yarn doesn't get squished, then goes flat when empty. Also, there is plenty of room to store working projects above the skeins. The straps can easily handle any expected weight that will be in the bag (yarn doesn't weigh all that much). USB charging port a plus - just shove your battery/brick in the bag and plug it in. I had no idea a product like this existed, but I knew I had to have it when I saw it! The backpack is nicely constructed and seems sturdy, and there are several thoughtful touches for fiber arts crafters (yarn holes on the side, loops for crochet hooks inside the front pocket).
