This is nice but not for large dogs. The lock isn’t very secure and can be pulled very easily. The light is a nice addition, but it’s not very bright. It also takes a while to charge.

We got a new dog from a shelter, full grown, 65 lbs and the regular leash was not doing it when it came to letting him have some room to roam a little bit, and not get him tangled up when he turns around one of the hundred times he does it. This leash works REALLY well, and the fact the dispenser for the bags is attached and fits the normal bag roll size is phenomenal. Haven't really tried the light yet (we have only been walking him during the day), so I can't really say much about that. The one thing that I think would make this hands above any other leash would be a clip that allows you to hook in a bag of poo after using it, so you 1) don't have to carry it yourself and 2) don't have to use the latch onto the harness for the dog to carry. I may end up doing a 3D print of something to do just that, but aside from that VERY minor thing, I've been super happy with the purchase.

Update to review. I must have received a bad leash because it stopped working. The customer department was quick to address the issue and I must say, this is a really good leash for parks. It's super long. My buddy is back to running around like he owns the park, thank you so much and I highly recommend this leash to everyone.

I bought two of these for my dogs. It’s well made. I love the light(usb rechargeable) and I love the poo bag holder attached to the unit. The thing is after 2 months one of the leashes started to fray on the edges and would no longer retract. I thought this might be a one off and I ordered a third one. Now the the second leash I originally ordered is also fraying and won’t retract. I’m sure my third leash will do the same in the near future. There is a design flaw with the interior mechanism that is eating the leash. I won’t be buying a forth which is a shame because this could be an amazing product if they fix quality control.

Was so excited to get this leash and immediately took my 14 pound dog out for an evening walk. The light is a great feature .. not too bright but perfectly adequate for my needs. When it came time to use the poop bags just a couple of blocks from my house, I thought "wow, this light is very helpful to find the poop pile in the dark"! I found said pile but, sadly, the poop bag holder had already fallen off and was lost. When I returned home, I read the instructions (yeah, should done that first but who should have to read instructions to use a leash!)! The poop bag unit needs to be twisted to lock it into the leash so don't skip this step!! . This leash is adequate .... the tape on the leash is much thinner that the other retractable I have and I wouldn't use it for a medium/large dog, especially if it pulls at all. For my elderly 14 pounder, it's fine. Overall, this is priced way too high for what it is but it does work and it's great to have the light and bags onboard. As others have said, the bag holder is a dumb design .... standard bags fit in length but you need to remove half the bags to get the roll in the holder (which, of course, means you run out of bags twice as fast).
