After WEEKS of trying to find a pair of boots that fit my wide, 16.5 inch calves I’ve finally found a pair that fit me! I originally purchased the 7.5, but because I have thin ankles, my feet would lift out of the boots as I walked. This seemed to be a consistent issue with every wide-calf boot I tried on. I am normally a 7.5 and I was skeptical trying the 7, but I’m glad I did because the 7’s fit me perfectly! My feet don’t lift as I walk and they’re not overly tight in the foot area. The double zipper feature allows me to loosen the top of the boots to accommodate my thicker calves. I am almost 5’1”, and they still rest below the knee. So if you also have thin ankles but wide calves, I would suggest sizing down half a size.

These shoes fit confuse me some. They look very narrow and are very long. I am typically a size 9.5 in boot type shoes and tennis shoes and a 9 in dress shoes/heels. So I was surprised by how much extra space I had in the length and on top of my foot when I bought a size 9 after reading reviews. They are a more narrow style but my left foot which is the widest foot I have fits perfectly (at least initially before lots of walking). They do seem to fit better with thicker socks. So they are both narrow and large all at the same time. Honestly wish that I had purchased the 8.5s at the same time but the 9s fit so well with my winter socks that I will keep them. Since the zippers are on the inside the double zipper is hidden. The second zipper gives you an additional inch or so of room. But I would not say these are particularly wide calf. When unzipped there is definitely more of an opening but it is more of a conservative widening. It’s not a huge wide calf to give that oversized look if that is what you want to go for. I removed a start because one shoe came with a sticky residue on them that I was able to remove with some windex and a light scrub. But a little frustrating to have to do that. They did not look like they had been worn and returned. I will update accordingly if they end up being uncomfortable. I plan to wear them for a weekend in Chicago where I will be walking often.

I honestly do not have super wide calves. I try on knee-length boots at the store and I just need a little extra room to fit my calf in, so I order wide-calf boots. These boots are cute but I would not consider them wide calf. I would consider them a TINY bit wider than normal boots but not wide.
