Like almost everyone else my age, I certainly do not write as many checks as I did in the olden days before the Internet, but I still maintain a checking account with my local bank. And oddly enough, I’ve begun to write checks again when renumerating certain businesses. My natural gas utility now charges a service fee for paying via credit card, and it’s possible that other places will follow suit. To heck with it – if the service fee costs more than a stamp, I’m writing and mailing a check. Anyway, I still get free checks from my bank, but they don’t always come with those little blank ledgers that I had coming out of my ears once upon a time. This transaction ledger is very nice – It’s a good size (for desktops, NOT for pocket or purse) with plenty of space on each line to document your transactions. The paper used for the pages is a decent weight, and there’s room to record hundreds of transactions. Being a lefty, one of the main things about this ledger that I love is that the wire spiral is on the top – doesn’t dig into my wrist/hand! It has a durable plastic cover, and a very handy full sized pocket on the back (it’s a free pocket, not fixed to the back cover as picture would have you believe) where I can store a pad of blank checks and postage stamps. A sweet bit of quality old fashion tech at a fair price. 😊

My mom needed a check register and I got this for her. When I asked for her opinion on it for a review, this is what she said: This is such a great item!!! I still love to use my pen and paper because when electronics go down, I am still able to manage my finances, so I love being old skool on this kinda thing. There is plenty of space to write things down and keep it all looking good. Plus, as I get older, the small print on the ones you get from the bank is just way too small for me. I highly recommend this item. I find it to be very durable and easy to use and it was so worth the money spent to buy it. I would want another one and will as soon as this one is full!

This register has thicker paper and wider lines for those who have large handwriting. There is plenty of space for putting in the vendor and maybe what was purchased. It is easy to use being spiral bound on the top, and both sides of each sheet are useable. it feels durable and not flimsy. It is not large, but the pages are positioned landscape giving you more space to write. I will buy this again.
