The Hatteker brand is an awesome shave set! Lasts for years. This is my 2nd one. But... whoever designed the holding tray needs to be sent back to work in the mail room. 🙄 1- The plug protrudes WAY out so it can't sit flush against the wall, taking up way too much space on the countertop. 2- shaver base does not sit snuggly in the charging spot, so it's easy to accidentally bump it and knock it out. 3- they didn't create enough slots for all the attachments. So you are required to have 2 attachments on the shaver at all times. 4- they didn't add a spot for the comb, brush, and oil. While not of my design disappointments affect the operation of the shaver, I'm just of the mindset if you're going to do it, do it right. ... show more

So I just used the product for the time. Purchased the item because of the numerous 5 star reviews. I am happy with the purchase so far but there is one issue that I have. The beard trimmer and body trimmer attachment work great but I think there is an issue with the hair clipper “combs.” Now I tried the hair clipper attachment with the 6mm tomb on my beard and it was constantly pulling out my hairs. Now the adjustable beard trimmer attachment worked perfectly and the hair clipper blade is sharp but I think the hair clipper combs either sit odd on the blade itself or have a rough edge that snags the hairs. People said the blades were dull or the motor was weak but I believe it is something with the combs actually. I ran some sand paper in between the plastic fingers of the combs and it is way better now but it was an issue I didn’t need. My beard is very coarse and tightly coiled, much different then the hair on my head, so there my not have been an issue if I used the hair clippers on the hair on my head. I hope this helps anyone having issues. Still gets 4 stars but no 5 from me. ... show more

    • Great blades, but the rest falls short

I have had this shaver for a little over 2 months now. If my review was a reflection only of the various blades, then I would give this shaver a 5. I get close, even shaves, with no nicking or scratching. So, why did I rate this a 2? There are a few reasons. There is no catchment area for the hairs which are cut. This means that my sink becomes the site for the hair. Maybe this is why they recommend rinsing the blades every day, while you wash the hair down the drain. If I were to rinse the hair every day, my pipes would surely clog in a few years. This unit comes with a vial of oil (oops, they forgot to show oil in the advertisement), and the instructions are to oil the blades every day after rinsing the hair. I bought this unit hoping to do away with the oil which came with my previous shaver. I decided to oil the blades only once every time I charged the base. The instructions say to charge the unit before using (the ad has added a 10 min charge only), and to charge it every day. This is not the best way to maintain the batteries. So, I decided to charge the shaver only when the charge went down to 20%; the charge is now 35%, so I will be charging it again in a few more days. I've only charged it once before, so the battery has a great life, so far. The storage unit has no room for the oil, and the travel bag does not have room to store all the attachments. I use the body trimmer every day to shave my face, and occasionally, the trimmer has separated from the base while shaving. I'm hoping this is not because the connection is not as tight as when the unit was totally new. So, mostly because using this shaver is very messy (hair cleanup), I only rated it a 2. Contributing to this is the misleading ad and the misleading instructions. ... show more

Despite overall good build quality this beard trimmer has not lived up to its description. I have fairly thick curly beard hair and this trimmer regardless of which comb I use with a trimmer like to snag and pull on hairs which really hurts. The shaver attachment also does not work as well as I’d like. A close electric shave is not something this trimmer will offer. If you have straight and thin to medium thick beard hair this will work just fine for you. For thick and or curly bearded men look for other options. No visible issues. Compared to both of my Norelco trimmers (double-ended Bodygroom & also the Multi Groomer): 1. It lasts 2-3X longer, before needing a recharge. 2. It is a little bit quieter, when operating. 3. It is significantly less expensive. Good points: 1. Lasts very long on a single charge. 2. Recharges pretty quick. 3. The "adjustable precision dial" clipper guard is easy to use & works for nearly everything I need. 4. Pretty quiet, for a trimmer. 5. Still going strong over a year after purchase. 6. Reasonable price. Bad point: 1. The "mangroomer/bodygroom"-type head (with a foil guard & cutters at both edges) will bite you, so I don't use it. So does the Norelco Bodygroom, occasionally, but this one is worse. ... show more

You get so much for the price! I used it yesterday for the first time and in very pleased. The Guards are rounded so you can navigate your neck with ease. The attachments are numerous, and the precision attachment with the dial is pretty nice! It’s specifically in millimeters, so keep that in mind. I was able to clean up my beard and shape it up in about 10 minutes. before I got this, I was using different beard trimmer that didn’t have a lot of attached so my beard had the same length all the way around. Being able to make the sides shorter, and blend it in as I get near the chin, is a really great advantage that you get with this product. Highly recommend! ... show more
