We are all very impressed that the sound quality isn't tinny or full of echoes, like I thought a small device would be. I'm happy that there is no additional EMF waves, no wi-fi. I am so happy I bought this sound machine. It has so many different sounds and matched great with the large hatch that stays in the bedroom. This portable one is so easy to use and is great for on the go. This was a must have when we were in the hospital. It kept my little one asleep and the sounds are relaxing for everyone who has to listen to it. The battery on it is great and last all night and most of a day before we have to charge it. This sound machine is amazing. It has many options for sounds and it can get really loud. It doesn’t shut off and holds its charge for a really long time. Some people complained about the attachment mechanism but we’ve found it works really well for attaching to your shirt or a seatbelt or bag strap. Other reviewers also complained about the difficulty figuring out when the machine is on and which side is volume up or down—the design could definitely be improved upon but it’s only a small annoyance in comparison to all of the great features this little machine has. (Tips: hold for count of 3 to turn on- volume up is to the right of the fastener) ... show more

So I have the Hatch Rest and wanted the same sounds for on the go. That is what I paid for. I am still disappointed however that it lacks basic features. There is no timer which isn’t the end of the world for us but would be nice. What I’m most frustrated with is that you have to press the button to cycle through all the sounds and it’s annoying. The sounds fade in and out when you press the button so trying to get to the correct sound is a lengthy process with a screaming baby. I used my label maker to label the order of the sounds to help with this. The ring it is on is cute but a joke. The machine slid off the ring while I was out the other day causing it to crash onto the floor. I’ve since replaced the ring with a traditional carabiner and that is much easier to use. Love that it’s portable and does not require wireless support. I use this when traveling for work and vacation, it’s small so it doesn’t take up much packing space and it has multiple sound options, we prefer the water sounds. And the charger is a usb plug in, when traveling internationally this is wonderful as you won’t need an additional adapter to plug in, you can use a multi purpose adapter and this works great. ... show more

    • The “slow fade” feature is super annoying

I love our Hatch Rest + Sound machine so I was really excited to try this portable version out, but it’s not as great as I would have liked. PROS: good sound (not tinny), nice variety of sounds, sleek design, looks attractive. CONS: I find it super annoying that there is a delay/slow fade when turning the machine on and when toggling between sounds. I wish you could turn that feature off. Yes it’s fancy that the sound slowly fades in and out when turning the machine on and when choosing a sound but who has that kind of time?? I just want to click it on to my last setting and GO. But here I have to press and hold the power button for 3 or so seconds to turn the machine on and then I have to toggle the volume up to get it to where it was last. I don’t know about other parents but 99% of the time we use the exact same sound and the exact same sound level. When my child is crying and I can’t hear the gentle fading in anyway, I could really care less about it and it just adds to the frustration of the moment. I need the machine to help my child to sleep—they’re not already sleeping when I turn the machine on—so why bother having a gentle fade? It’s just frustrating. ... show more

I tried two dreamegg portable sound machines before getting this one. The battery life is fantastic. The design is compact but powerful. It’s easy for multiple caregivers to use (read grandma can turn it on and off easily).
