  • Worked great to dispense Pyrethrum dust
This duster pretty much does exactly what it was designed to do. For me, it delivered a fine mist of Pyrethrum dust into a small crevice in the outside structure built around my gas fireplace insert. I had a huge colony of yellowjackets which had taken up residence, and there was no better way for me to deliver an insecticide. I will make one note here. The duster really works well when the yellow cap and outlet are held on the bottom. But if you flip it over, it's not going to spray any of the powdered solids in the container. At best, you will get a small shot of the particles which were small enough to be suspended in the airspace. This is just simple physics and gravity. So definitely hold it with the applicator on the bottom. Also, the applicator extension included with this duster is just about 4 inches long. I imagine for most applications, this is sufficient, however if you need to get into tight places or there are other structures blocking your access to the point where you need place the delivery nozzle, this extension is just not long enough. I solved this problem by going to the hardware store and buying 2 ft of 3/8" OD polyethylene tubing at about 24 cents a foot. See the pic. By using this tubing instead of the included applicator extension, I was able to easily dispense the dust exactly where I needed, and still be able to hold the duster upright with the applicator on the bottom. All in all, this is an great product, well worth the small price. And with a simple addition, this becomes an excellent solution to a very annoying problem. ... show more

  • False Advertising - The labels says "Made in China", not "Made in USA"
I bought this item because the product description says "Made in USA" even it is more expensive that the other brands. When I received this item, I found that it was made in China. I am disappointed for the false product description. If you support American made product, this product is not for you.

  • Simple device, but very effective!
This sprayer fits together easily, and disperses power well. You fairly well can control how much is dispersed by how much pressure you apply to the bellows, and how sharply you push down. With a little practice, you can be more precise, and shoot a rough line of powder rather than a cloud, which is especially important with something toxic, like an actual pesticide. But if you do THAT, wear a mask! Or you WILL be breathing some of it into your lungs. Not good at all. The powder will still hang in the air for awhile, so be selective about when and where you apply it, and keep kids and animals OUT. Do not go back without a mask for a couple of hours. If you apply it at night, and go back the next morning, you should be fine. That's what I did in our basement laundry area. The floor drain goes through the ground, under the house, to the main outflow sewer pipe in the street, so after all the rain in New York this spring, the ground got soaked and the water rose. We and lots of houses in the area had an invasion of waterbugs. Quite disgusting. I have finally gotten rid of them (most dead, the remainder driven out) by • dry-spraying the basement corners and drains with Diatomaceous earth mixed with boric acid powder (the first one incapacitates them, snd the second one kills them) • Spraying the boxes, bags and furnitures, all the walls, shelving, ceiling beams and crawlspaces with a mixture of tea tree oil, neem oil, and dish detergent in water. About a tablesoon of each to a quart of water. These ingredients are used on vegetable gardens to get rid of pests and plant diseases, and will not harm you or your belongings, but keep the pets out. Tea tree oil is also powerfully anti-fungal and will take care of your basement or under-sink mildew problem (also dandruff and smelly shoes. Look it up) and the smell dissipates in two days. ... show more

  • Get this if you have ants.
This is a very good tool to have around if ants are a problem. I used one that belonged to my neighbor before I bought one, and it is so good to be able to control the dispensing of diatomaceous earth. The ants run from it. You can put it along baseboards, under sink, along window edges, etc, Be sure to order food grade diatomaceous earth. This duster is easy to use and clever. ... show more

  • Works great mechanically. Remove yellow cap
Works great mechanically. Remove yellow cap. Scoop in diatomaceous earth. Hold with yellow cap down. Poof along where the rug meets the walls and under the bed and under the stove, etc. You can even poof into the air and then close the room door and let the fine white dust settle. Takes awhile to work. You have to be consistent and do this every week or so. Gradually the bugs begin disappearing. Then you have to keep doing it, because their eggs hatch. Finally, in six months or so, the project is finished (at least as far as we can see so far). Diatomacious earth seems OK to be in the air. It doesn't make us cough. It smells faintly. It settles quickly. There is a long tradition of human use in food, toothpaste, etc. Its mostly silica, which can cause a lung impairment called "silicosis" in people who work daily in mining and environments full of cement dust for many years of their lives. So, don't expect to do this long term. ... show more

  • Great, strange looking, little item
I use diatomaceous earth on my cats for fleas. It works great. I usually put it in a shaker which doesn't work great. The powder comes out in lumpy clumps and goes everywhere making a huge messy dust storm and the cats are gone. This little item has solved that BIG problem. I just squeeze the container and out comes a puff of powder. Cats don't know what hit them and the job is done. ... show more

  • Works Well
I bought this along with Delta dust to try to end a yellow jacket problem in my walls. I had gone through about ten bottles of wasp spray and nothing worked. Two treatments with this lovely little duster and our house is yellow jacket free.

  • This worked out GREAT for me........
This works fine to spread the Diatomaceous Earth. I hate making the edges of my carpet and flooring dusty but this applicator does the job as it should be done and pushes the dusty dirt into cracks and crevices. I did this to get rid of silverfish (I hope so anyway). Hate critters! Recommended. Thank you. ... show more
