  • If you don't watch the runways..
Let me start by saying that fashion is ageless, and Harper's Bazaar does a decent job of highlighting the notable runway pieces. That being said: -Almost all the editorials are geared towards much older women: girls in their teens and twenties can flip through runway summaries, but countless articles on why they should botox the crap out of their face isn't really useful. (funny--there's always some "beauty is ageless! celebrate older women!" articles along with the "your lips are gone, puff them up you silly old woman! inject that Restylane! you need 4 IPL treatments!" advice) -About 70% of the magazine is pure advertisements. Which is fine, because most contribute to a greater aesthetic. There are, however, a lot of oddball outfits (mm I didn't know bedazzling with rhinestones was stylish, Saks Fifth Avenue!). Oh, and the ever so classy Palladium jewelry ads. -The "fashion" advice is somewhat contradictory. For example, one column advised you to "store away" a type of shoe which was featured literally the page before, and maybe 30 other times throughout the magazine. The shoe they recommended instead, I did not see at all. So if you take away all the anti-aging botox promotions and the ads, you're left with maybe 10 pages of runway highlights; this is of course, including the contradictory fashion advice you might not care to take. If this magazine is worth all the paper, then you'll be happy. If you thought you'd be getting more for 250 pages a month, you should look elsewhere. I didn't pay that much for this magazine, and it is fun to flip through, but I don't know if I would renew it. (also.. I don't think it's fair to give Harper's Bazaar 1/5 stars because the vender didn't supply you--there's a separate company/delivery feedback. I purchased my subscription through amazon and it arrived in a timely fashion) ... show more

  • Classic magazine
I will always love the actual magazine in my hand to smell and feel. There’s no online substitute for me.

  • haute and delicious
I used to read this magazine many years ago and re-subscribed late last fall in large part due to a five dollar a year subscription price. After receiving my first issue I was very pleased that I ordered this title; having live 30 minutes from Manhattan most of my life and now residing in the high desert plains, this is defintely my Zsa-Zsa/Green Acres fix for the month! I like how they always apply the fashion trends for women of any age - 20's to 70's. This issue had generous articles about Patti Hansen and Madonna - whether you care for them or not I think they are real legends as opposed to the various Kardashians that always seem to be on every other cover these days. They do give a nod to up-and-comers by including features like the one with model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. I don't mind the many ads since they keep the publishing costs low. A little talk of everything current - art, movies, books and of course the fashion.... While it is mostly high end couture that is beyond my budget, it is beautifully photographed and the trends are a treat to admire - I think of this as sort of long distance window shopping. ... show more

  • Fashion focused fare
Large, glossy format which is a plus. Decent selection of fashion styles and skin care routines, although rather avant-garde and there are magazines I personally prefer Reading. However This popular, professional publication is great when the price is right (I got this for about five dollars per subscription on a special offer) ... show more

  • Easy to order; great price.
Not reviewing Harper's Bazaar so much (I've been a reader for years) but rather subscribing through Amazon. Placing my order was very easy and I was able to pay with my Amazon store credit card. I have received two issues so far. They began arriving exactly when order processing said they would and are perfect condition. In pre-Covid days I enjoyed purchasing a group of magazines on a trip to the local bookstore but now it's much safer (and less expensive) to have a mail subscription. ... show more

  • Filled with beautiful photos
Though I have never been into looking fashionable myself, I find fashion photos beautiful, and if you feel the same way, this is the magazine for you! I love looking through the magazine each month. It is HUGE compared with every other magazine I've seen in the past--much thicker. There aren't many articles in it compared with advertisements, and I don't care at all because the advertisements are really pretty and I like them just as well as the content of the magazine. I really like drawing the pictures in the magazines for drawing practice, too, or as reference for drawings. I have no complaints with this magazine. My recommendation is to order it during Black Friday--this is when I ordered mine, and I got a full year subscription for only $5, no strings attached, which was awesome and well well well worth it. ... show more

  • eh, its ok, but can feel the political manipulations
Its hit or miss with this magazine. Some issues(months) are better than others, some I throw out the 1st time perusing through. They've gotten much more manipulative politically over the years (as I have noticed MOST all of the fashion magazines), and is definitely Left-leaning. They need to feature BOTH sides (Left AND Right). Many of the celebrities featured/interviewed are not really significant people that anyone cares to know what they have to say, but one gets the sense they were chosen for their very "Left-leaning ,-put down the Right"-, political comments. Because I am not personally really politically engrossed in either side, I am able to subscribe without it bothering me too much...and ultimately, I continue to subscribe for those 'occasional' good issues that show a lot of fashion and makeup news. ... show more

  • Yes!
I love this publication and have been a subscriber for years. It is a collection of health, beauty and fashion. Although high end on the fashion spectrum, it is not so far fetched that only the very wealthy can enjoy. The articles are intriguing and always on the cutting edge of what is new. I have all access, but have neve found the electronic version to work well. I don't really mind as reading a magazine in hard copy is a pleasure of the past. ... show more
