I use this notebook for writing my daily journal. I like the "firmback" (what I call it; not quite a hardback) cover, also the ribbon bookmark and the stretch ribbon to hold the book closed. There is a folder on the inside back cover for storing notes and etc. I use it for storing journal entries for later add when I don't have my journal with me. Each page has a space at the top for inserting a date; I use it to index the first full entry on each page by its date. The paper is of a heavy stock. I would've preferred paper slightly less heavy, but it does have the advantage of resisting ink bleed-through. One thing that should be added is a lighter area on the spine for writing in a title of the notebook; white markers are difficult to find. This notebook sits well on a bookshelf. All in all, this is a good product I can recommend for journal writing and composing.

I needed a basic work journal/notebook like this (approx. 7 x 10, lined, and hardback) with very few additional requirements, so I didn't realize my expectations could be exceeded, but they were. Arrived unprotected in a box with 3 other unprotected items and this was the only one undamaged - pretty durable (I just ordered a different brand hardback journal and it arrived totally dented). The date/days at the top are awesome, the little weather icons I could actually use (we record rain days), lays flat open, and I love the matte finish of the cover. (I got the dark green and it's really gorgeous.) The binding seems like it will last as long until the pages are filled (my current journal by Journalbooks?, I believe, has come apart from the binding after some abuse over about 18 months). Great price, I will actually come back to this brand for personal journals in the future, I really like this and can't wait to start using it.

I was looking for a cheaper alternative to Moleskin. The reviews and description claimed more pages, higher weight paper, lower price, comparable quality. However, binding was quick to rip free from interior pages. Binding is not glued to all pages, it is merely held in by the back cover and front cover being glued to the first and last sheet. While attempting to write with a "flat open" which this product claims to do, the front sheet was quick to rip, tearing the spine free of the binding.
