I had a family photo frame which held several 4x6 photos but it fell apart when we moved. I was looking for an alternative and found this set. With 8 frames I can add more photos to the display. The frames are made of sturdy wood, both the frame and the backing. The corners fit tightly and the staple is flush to the wood. I had planned to hang these with the Velcro type strips but these frames come with low damage picture hangers which work well. The stand fits into the back of the frame so they can fit flat to the wall. The frames have plexiglass instead of glass which makes them a lighter weight. There is a protective plastic on the plexiglass that has to be removed before using the frames. The protective plastic is easy to remove once you can get one corner lifted up. The hook for hanging can be moved so that you can hang the frames either horizontally or vertically. The tabs that hold the backing in place are inserted well into the wood and won’t easily fall out which has happened to me with other frames. ... show more

These are basic no-frills type of frame that’s got you covered. They can stand either portrait or landscape. Also provided are these plastic “no-trace” nails to hang the photos on the wall. The frames use a nice clear thin plexiglass instead of actual glass which makes them lighter and probably safer to have around. The plexiglass is clear and looks great. It initially comes packaged with a protective film on both sides that needs to be removed before use. One small negative (but to be expected at this price) are the small metal tabs that are used to hold the backing in place. With repetitive use, I know those tabs will break off one day. There are some minor imperfections and one of my frames had some long scuff marks. (See photo) I simply put the imperfections on the bottom of the frame so that it wouldn’t be visible. If you decide to hang your frames, the hanging hook can only be moved to either one horizontal or one vertical side because there is a metal tab that gets in the way to center the hook. They should have not placed the metal tabs dead center for more flexibility. Even though they are low cost frames, they look like something much more expensive. I got these to use on either side of a wall feature. They're a perfect size, well made for the price, and none came cracked or damaged. They're lightweight, so perfect if a person likes to change their decor a lot. They're a nice basic set of frames and they complement our room and decor, as all our other frames are black. We didn't want to drop a ton of money and we didn't here, but we still came out winners with this set. This would be a great housewarming gift for folks just starting out. A lot of people don't put a ton of weight on how much adding some pictures to the walls can really make a place feel like home. These are a great, low-cost solution to needing to add some warmth to bare walls. ... show more
