Description

Ken Honda—Japan’s 1 bestselling personal development guru—teaches you how to achieve peace of mind when it comes to money with this instant national bestseller. Too often, money is a source of fear, stress, and anger, often breaking apart relationships and even ruining lives. We like to think money is just a number or a piece of paper, but it is so much more than that. Money has the ability to smile, it changes when it is given with a certain feeling, and the energy with which it imbues us impacts not only ourselves, but others as well. Although Ken Honda is often called a “money guru,” his real job over the past decade has been to help others discover the tools they already possess to heal their own lives and relationships with money. Learn how to treat money as a welcome guest, allowing it to come and go with respect and without resentment; understand and improve your money EQ; unpack the myth of scarcity; and embrace the process of giving money, not just receiving it. This book isn’t to fix you, because as Ken Honda says, you’re already okay! Read more

  • Arigato Money
Format: Kindle
I picked up this book to learn about making money but this is more about psychology of money. It talks about money as a form of energy. This concept stuck with me and I started saying thank you each time I spend money or receive money. Over the time I start noticing things like each experience I said thank you to made it even better by giving me surprise in return. For example, I had a snack which tasted way better when I said thank you to money. Another time I went to deposit cash to bank, after depositing I said thank you to money and I noticed I deposited more money than I counted before. This really surprised me and thought it's no way possible but it happened. Also my happiness started increasing because of these positive experiences. I would highly recommend everyone to read it and it might completely change the way you approach money. ... show more

  • This book is a gem.
Format: Kindle
I was hooked when he shared the story of his father, as it was relatable to a family tragedy I also experienced which was quite traumatic. Honda is an optimist and shares more about the Japanese culture and taking a broad and modern view of society and money — he even talks about technology and AI which I found surprising that he was well-informed about the changing economic landscape with respect to jobs as well as the happiness state in Bhutan as he speaks toward the end of the book. He weaves in different analogies related to water and money (the lake, the stock and flow). His language is accessible, sensical, and easy to parse. I’m sure if there is a companion workbook it would be easily bought, since each chapter is a lesson in itself that begs the leader to reflect on their money attitude and approach to happiness in life — something book and investing clubs would love. ... show more

  • Maro the first element of success
Format: Hardcover
Interesting Japanese concepts utilizing gratitude, The law of Attraction, and practical motivation. I saw an interview with the writer and I learned a couple techniques from the book. And I'm using them. And they're kind of fun to use. Do you need to smoke? If you study the law of Attraction gratitude and so on, probably not. But it's a good read and the author is a good man. ... show more

  • Happy Money as the Basis for a Happy & Abundant Life
Format: Hardcover
I really love this book and encourage others to dive into it! The basic premise behind Happy Money is that most of us have arrested development when it comes to finances. We hold deep-seated beliefs that we adopt from a young age based on our parents’ attitudes towards money — and we’re not typically conscious that we’ve taken on those messages as we get older. As a result, the vast majority of adults struggle with money and finance-related issues. Ken’s premise is that your relationship with money is directly tied to your relationship with life — and that it MIRRORS your relationship with your life. Unhappy money is money that you bring in through fear or fear-based emotions. As an example, when a couple goes through an acrimonious divorce and one spouse gets alimony each month — they typically blow through it quickly as the energy behind that money scenario is one they want to get rid of as quickly as possible; it’s “unhappy money”. This is all unconscious. By contrast when you love what you do to make money and joyfully receive money from people who are truly grateful for your services then money sticks around longer — that’s what it means to have “happy money”. And when your money is happy, then YOU are happy — your relationships work better, you feel better, and your overall world view is much happier. Worth the investment to try this powerful concept on for size yourself! ... show more

  • What I needed and what many of us need for the next big step!
I want to thank the author, Ken Honda, for this wonderful book. It's inspiring, and it's easy to read. It helps us, or it helped me, gain appreciation for life, changing my mindset, just with a couple of steps. I feel I am overtaking or tumbling down barriers for happy money flow. I also encourage everyone who fears losing money or is feeling stuck to read this book and give yourself a chance. The main takeaway I have from this book is the importance of being grateful. Sometimes, or maybe a lot of times, we tend to take things for granted. Even our own breathing, our partners, our friends, our family, our daily experiences, as if we deserve them. And it's actually a gift. And that present moment will come and go and never repeat in the same way as it did. So, gratefulness, being grateful, is the biggest takeaway and the biggest gift I have learned from this book. ... show more
