My preemie son fit into a medium pretty quickly after he sized out of his preemie swaddle (I think you probably don't need to bother with a size small), and it has been incredible for us. H*lo swaddles sometimes rise up in the front to where the velcro portion goes up near baby's face, whereas on this one, having the velcro inside the swaddle and the third piece that goes between baby's legs keeps everything in place. The breathable mesh portions have been really great for US Midwest summers. It's quick, easy to use, not something that I think I could make myself (my complaint about other super-simple style swaddles that are still forty dollars), and my son sleeps great in it. As we transition out of the swaddle, the ability to put his arms out is appreciated. This is an all-in-one no-brainer! My only word of caution is to make sure the sticky velcro side is attached before you put it in the washer so it doesn't catch on and ruin your other clothes.

The media could not be loaded. The single, most HELPFUL product I encountered as a first time mom was this swaddle. My newborn has used it since day 1 at the clinic both at nights and naps, and IT HAS PROLONGED HER SLEEP. We’ve also used it to soothe her, with amazing results. It’s magical!!! I’ve gifted it to friends and family and all parents have been super thankful and happy. PROS: - MORE SLEEP! Total. Game. Changer. My baby slept longer stretches of time with the swaddle on vs. without. And this was the only swaddle that did the trick. We tried dozens! But baby always managed to get the arms out and wake up. This one holds their arms perfectly (thanks to the inner bands with Velcro) and provides the security and soothing that this thousand year long tradition promotes - SO EASY TO USE: it’s so practical to just put velcros together and zip them. Others we tried were confusing, much like doing it with a blanket. My husband and I just aren’t that talented! - EXCELLENT QUALITY: Quality is amazing. Soft and breathable fabric, not to thick, not to light either, we’ve washed it repeatedly and still great for our second child! Same with the Velcro. Still in perfect shape after 4-5 months use - SMART DESIGN FOR EXTENDED USE: Unlike other competitor products, this one allows you to unsap the arm openings, so you can remove one or two arms when baby starts rolling (at around 4 months) and it’s not safe for them to be fully swaddled. So you can extend its use to 5-6 months - DON’T HAVE TO UNSWADDLE FOR DIAPER CHANGE. Two way-zipper has come in super handy when a diaper change was needed in the middle of the night. And a nice detail: the zipper is covered at the end so it doesn’t make contact with baby’s chin. They’ve really thought of everything! CONS: I honestly don’t have a single bad thing to say about this swaddle BOTTOM LINE: Buy this swaddle for your newborn! You won’t regret it. In fact, buy more than one.

THE. BEST. SWADDLE. EVER. Baby size reference: 9lbs 6oz, 22 inches long. He is a "skinny" 9lbs, not very chunky. He still has room to grow in this swaddle but its not very loose on him. Still has room to stretch out legs and grow. I have tried several different swaddles and would end up with the same issues. Too hard to get on after it stretches out and won't stay on, comes up over face, velcro wears out after a couple uses etc. NOT THIS SWADDLE! It is so EASY to get on and off baby. Literally 5 seconds to use. I wanted a swaddle that was easy for my husband to use to and he did our night feedings last night with no problems! The inside material for the strap on his arms is stretchy but doesn't become stretched out. I also love the diaper flap to keep the arm straps and swaddle from riding up to the baby's face. That has taken a load of stress and worry off of me at night. I like the breathable mesh areas to help keep baby cool. We had to keep our baby naked in other swaddles because of where we live and how hot it gets. We could never get the temperature right for him. Now with this swaddle and the mesh, we dress him in a full body onsie and put him in the swaddle. And he is comfortable in a room with the AC set at 68 to 70 degrees. This is also without humidity. Only thing that has been a little difficult is diaper changes. But I believe that's more due to the onsie I use than the actual swaddle. It can be hard to get the diaper in place, but not impossible. For poopy diapers I would suggest just unswaddling to change and not unzipping the bottom. My husband did this last night and had no issues reswaddling our fussy, arms everywhere son.

TLDR: This is exactly what we were looking for. Perfect for your baby if they need their arms down, and are always escaping from swaddles. Also great for transitioning to arms out. Minus one star for the confusing sizing. It says 0-3 online but the box says 0-2. We went with the 3-6 (2-6 according to the box) because of that issue. ———————————— We’ve tried lots of different swaddles for our baby. We loved the fleece Halo so we ordered another in their cotton fabric, but the cotton fabric stretches too much to keep our baby contained. He always escapes from it. We also tried Woombie because I saw in the Halo reviews that someone recommended it. My baby didn’t like that one because it didn’t keep his arms down. And it was annoying to me because his arms would escape through the neck. Dreamland and Love to Dream didn’t work for us either. We have spent a lot of money trying to find the right swaddle for our baby. This swaddle perfectly keeps my baby’s arms down. I love that I will be able to transition him gradually from arms down to arms out. I also love that the velcro can provide him with a secure feeling with or without his arms inside it. This is exactly what I was looking for.
