We bought this wobbler when he was 4 months old and he seemed to enjoy it from the start because of the cute musical noise from the metal bell that rings when it rocks. A month later, he's utterly obsessed with the penguin and lights up anytime we bring it out. He bops it with his hands and spins it now and tries to pick it up himself (fair warning, it's heavy - about 2 lbs. so don't leave your baby with it unattended! They will try to pick it up!!). We use it for side lying practice to help with rolling and we use it during situp practice on the tray of his Upseat. I also have discovered that Sandra Boynton has a wonderful baby book called "Your Personal Penguin" that has a song that goes with the book and this wobbler is a great story-time to compliment the story when you sing it. Everytime the book has a page with the words "I want to be your personal penguin!" I jingle the penguin wobbler for him. Try it!! ... show more

I don’t know why I thought it was battery operated. You have to tap it in order for it to move. Kinda like a bobble head. It’s a cute toy but it’s really heavy for infants.

I needed to purchase something to get up to the dollar amount to get next morning delivery so I added in this roly poly penguin toy. It is a very simple toy with a pleasant, mellow jingling when it is wobbling. The household I gifted the toy to had a "no noise" rule for toys but I figured this one would be okay. Luckily the baby loves it and the parents are enjoying their 7+ month old infant playing with it. It is also turning into a fun toy the baby is motivated to move/crawl towards. We named him "Mr Penguin" which this product has helped encourage our little one with their milestones. Such as reaching, watching where Mr Penguin goes by spinning him and wobbling him around. I had an apple version of this as a kid. The tones it made were musical and pure. This one makes sounds, but they’re more clanky and dull. Still, I’m not the one playing with it. My baby likes it and that’s all that matters.

I wanted to love this. And I do. It works on hard floors. Flops around real cute. We have carpet and it does not work on carpet. Not like it should. If you have floors, get it.
