This bag seems great! I just got it today and haven’t taken it on a trip yet but I think it’ll get the job done! I was between this and an Away bag and after a lot of research I ended up getting this one. The reason why I really wanted an Away bag was for the built in usb charger and I think they look a little better. I ended up getting the Hanke because it was $120 cheaper, I really like that the bag opens on the side rather than down the center (easier to open and less wasted space), and I’ve heard some airlines don’t like built in usbs. Only gripe for me is I wish they had more color options - preferably less glossy. I think this color looks pretty cool though!

We are frequent international travelers and have always struggled with our luggage when rolling it across uneven cobblestone surfaces. We wanted hard shell designs but didn't like the clamshell style opening because it required more surface to open (which is not always plentiful in European accommodations). After searching for so long for a new bag, I was thrilled to find this Hanke luggage that opens from the top and purchased one for me and one for my husband in the hopes it would solve our struggles. We have just returned from a 25-day trip to Europe (with just this carry-on and a backpack) and I am happy to report that this bag passed the test with flying colors! The wheels rolled smoothly without any hiccups and it was lightweight enough to easily carry up the numerous steps that we encountered. It also fit easily in the overhead bins of all airlines. Add a backpack with a strap to slip over the handle and you can sail through planes, trains and ferries without any problems. If you've been searching for the perfect bag, I highly recommend this luggage! Our frustrations with dragging luggage around Europe have finally been resolved.

I purchased this last minute for a two week trip to Italy. I accidentally ordered the cream, loved it but worried about it getting dirty with checking….no issues at all! In fact my husband was jealous because his brand new samsonite was all scratched and mine looked perfect. We went to Rome, Florence, Tuscany and Cinque Terre…..wheels were bumping and off roading over those cobblestone streets and it did great! I love the top opening, so convenient! I may have to get the carry on now too. Highly recommend!

I found out my carryon was too large just 2 days before my flight and needed for order a new carryon that had next day shipping. My options were limited and this was one of the few that was the right size with spinner wheels and a hard shell that would make it on time. I didn’t even notice when I bought it that the top was what unzipped but this was a feature I absolutely must have for the rest of my life. Instead of having to awkwardly deal with 2 heavy halves of a suitcase I was able to just open the top. And there are straps to keep it open at a right angle so it doesn’t just flop over. I used this as a carryon for 2 United flights with no problems on size. I would definitely recommend this and would buy it again in the future.

I loved this luggage, and was disappointed when I had to return it. There was no way to expand it if I needed to. Also, I found it difficult to lift when it was loaded because there is no handle or way to grip it on the bottom. The carry on not so much of a problem with this because it is lighter, but the larger size I felt would become a problem to lift without some way to grip from the bottom to put on racks or lift sideways. Would order again if these changes were made in a different model thought the design and look were great! Really loved the way the luggage opened so easy to access and use. Best design!

Finally a suitcase on wheels that isn't clamshell. I purchased the white (it's off-white, which is 100% better) 26" size. I managed to fit all my clothes and toiletries (see images) less the baseball caps and swimsuits. The lock is super easy to program and it pops easily. I'll try and post an update after the beast travels through separate 4 cargo holds. Fingers crossed. Seems very sturdy, handle works effortlessly and I can sit/ride on top if I so desire. Looking forward to not having my suitcase lay open on the hotel floor.

I travel 100% of the time for my job. Most of this includes flying twice a week. Out of dozens of luggage attempts I finally found the right suitcase. Glides easily, sturdy, aesthetically pleasing and packs well. The light color is bound to get some smudges but it’s worth the ease of finding amidst all the black bags. Don’t stop making this! I have the check size and carry on but want the whole collection!

Arrived in very good packaged condition the day before taking a trip. Noticed that the combination lock is upside down so working it upside down is frustrating. Trying to figure out how to contact Hanke for exchange or other solution. It went through baggage claim just fine, no scratches or dents. Will change rating to 5 once lock situation is corrected.
