I LOVE these shorts! Extremely comfortable, stretchy fabric... Fit me perfectly. I normally wear denim shorts, have forever, but these have made me re-think my wardrobe! No puckering around the elastic give these shorts a nice look, no need to hide it. Long story short, I love these and will buy lots more and will wear them almost daily!! Lots of colors available, too! The picture of the model shows the shorts to fit right at the knee, but they're shorter than that on me. I'm long legged & they fit just right, at mid-thigh. The inseam length is 7", perfect for us "mature" ladies... (To help you with sizing... I'm 5'7" tall & I'm a bit over weight, weighing in at 200. I'm carrying most of my extra pounds in my waist and butt. UGH! Can't believe I'm saying all this, lol, but hate it when reviews don't tell you what you need to know, so I'll be honest... I bought mine in 1X and they fit me PERFECTLY!! Just buy according to the size chart, or your normal size & you'll be fine! I have been wearing these shorts for over 10 years. They are so well made, comfortable, more than reasonably priced, and they last and last and last. Quality is 100%. Now, I don't know what happened, but I have been ordering these shorts in a size 3X. There was a note on the listing from Amazon that said my recommended size for these shorts was a 3X, so I ordered the 3X. My gosh, 2 people could have fit into these shorts they were so big! I returned them and reordered them in a 2X and hope they fit. I don't know if Hanes has changed their size chart or if these were just a fluke but still, since I love them so much, I think they are worth a 5* reviews. ... show more

I can't blame the shorts,the shorts are fine.There is an old saying around here though that says,"you can't make a silk purse out of a sows ear".Well,this is true! When your body is all out of shape from lack of exercise and poor eating habits,then let's face it,you might just look like an old sow! So,if you do indeed look like that sad old sow ,nothing,not even these nice gray shorts that I bought, are going to make you look better.You just might lose some weight and begin to look real spiffy,enough to wear those 90 Degree by Reflex Fleece Lined Leggings that are shown below. Pretty 'sexy' huh? Well not for me,just yet! Maybe you should try them out, I bet you would look positively,100% gorgeous! I am 5'7" tall, around 235 lbs. I ordered a 2X. Fit it as expected to a T. Snug in the waist (but the elastic is plenty stretchy nothing pinching at all, suuuuper comfortable ((wiiiide waist band)) and won't fall down) I'm apple shaped (biggest in the middle), the legs are roomy, not tight, but also it's not so much extra fabric it looks like a skirt as some plus size shorts can be. Great for running around, gardening, etc. Don't bunch up between my thighs (they've been close friends for many years, ha, ha) Maybe not classy enough for dinner out, but good enough for everything else. I desperately needed some comfy shorts for everyday and I'm ordering another pair. ... show more
