I own several hands-free dog leashes, so I like comparing different styles. While this one works as intended, it isn’t my favorite. The biggest drawback for me is that it doesn’t have any padding. When my dog pulls, you really feel the pressure, which makes it less comfortable than some of my other hands-free leashes. I also wasn’t a huge fan of the material—it feels a little less comfortable to use overall. That said, it does have some nice features. I like that it’s adjustable, the quality seems good, and it comes with a convenient attached poop bag holder. Overall, it’s a functional leash with some thoughtful features, but I personally find myself reaching for my padded hands-free leashes more often.

There's not much stretchiness to the leash, but I think that's the whole point. Right out of the package, it looked clean and sporty with the orange and gray combo, and the color was true to the photos. The leash material feels smooth and slightly grippy in the hand, and it has that wipe-clean look that makes it feel practical for messy weather. The hardware feels sturdy, and the overall design is simple enough that it doesn’t feel fussy when you’re trying to get out the door. In actual use, the hands-free setup has been really convenient. I have a little 20 pound dog that is a super puller, and I've purchased a lot of crossbody training leashes over the years to keep him secure and attached to me while we walk. I'm always looking for something that gives me better control without having to death-grip a handle, so when I saw this hands-free option I was hopeful it would be the one. The leash length is really nice and actually a little shorter than any of the other crossbody leashes I've found on the market. You can adjust it as short as 4 feet and as long as seven and a half feet, which gives you a lot of flexibility depending on whether you're on a tight sidewalk or letting your dog have a little more room to explore. That adjustability is a feature I genuinely appreciated. One thing to note though is that the longer you extend the leash, the snugger it fits around your waist or chest. So it's not really true to size at every length. If you plan on using it at the longer settings, keep in mind the fit will feel tighter on your body. I ordered the color gray, which in person is a very very pale gray. Almost lighter than what I was expecting based on the photos. Despite the awesome features and value, I didn't love the plastic PVC material of this leash. I understand it's designed to be tangle-free, odor-proof, and easy to rinse clean, which is great for a lot of people. I just live in a very hot and humid climate and constantly found the plastic getting hot and sticky against my skin and my hands during our walks. It became uncomfortable rather than convenient in my specific environment. I think I'll be going back to my nylon crossbody leashes. Although this one had some genuinely great features, the length sizing quirk and the material in my heat and humidity were a no-go for both my comfort and my little dog's.

I really like this leash! The cord feels very strong and is coated with a smooth silicone/rubber material that’s easy to wipe clean and doesn’t absorb dirt or odors. The hardware is sturdy, and everything feels well made. One of my favorite features is the hands-free design. I like wearing it cross-body, which gives me just the right leash length while keeping my hands free when we’re out walking. It’s also easy to adjust and comfortable to wear. The included poop bag holder is a nice bonus and attaches neatly to the leash, so I don’t have to remember to bring a separate dispenser. This hands-free dog leash has been a great upgrade for our daily walks. There are so many great features of this leash it's unfortunate several shortcomings prevent it from getting five stars. First, the positives: This leash is made from high quality materials and has a clever design. The sheath on the leash is a quality PVC rubber that feels like silicone, which increases grip-ability. Its tubular shape is also easier to hold than a flat leash. The poop bag has an intuitive design and is the first poop bag dispenser I've owned with spindles inside to keep the bags rolling feely (it's odd that this is an uncommon feature of these dispensers!). For bag replacement, the silicone strap snaps onto the grooves to secure the dispenser and it loops into the leash at the cinch with a separate dongle. This is now my favorite poop bag dispenser. Now the negatives: The biggest shortcoming is that the leash is too short! I am 6’4” with a 44 in. waist, which leaves about 4 ft. of leash left after adjustment. This is in effect an even shorter leash than a hand-held leash of the same length because it's 4 ft. from your waist -- not 4 ft. from your hand, which gives me an effective length of about 3 ft.. For me this puts the leash length into the very shortest length for a functional dog leash, especially if you have a small dog requiring a bit more leash to reach, and limits it to street walks (not enough leash to let your dog sniff under bushes, etc.). If the leash were longer then there wouldn't be a need to move the cinch, so a longer leash would solve both problems. Lastly, you have to step into the leash to get into it. Being able to fasten it around your waist like a belt would be a much better design and a time saver. That would also allow easier repositioning during walks. I like the good points of the product a lot (leash material and poop bag) and hope they make it with a longer leash and ability to fasten around your waist so it can be used in more dog walking situations and is easier to put on. Three stars for the leash, but five stars for the poop bag dispenser. UPDATE: The leash has a loop that you step in to get it around your body that can't be opened. I realized that removing the lock channel piece that makes that closed loop would allow it to be used as a belt and free up a few inches, so I cut it carefully with a rotary tool (scored the sides and then whacked with a hammer to avoid damaging the leash). Pics show the result... big improvement! Now the leash can be used as a belt and is a bit longer (after my modification, the white block snaps firmly into the rectangular bar to secure it around my waist).

Let me begin by stating this Hello.it hands free leash is a very quality leash. I'm really impressed. I only use hands free leashes now. My side gig is to walk a few neighborhood dogs and I like the extra assurance a hands free leash provides. It's also just so much more comfortable I don't know why everyone doesn't use one. PROs: -it's a beautiful sea glass greenish blue color. It's translucent as well which adds to a very airy, beachy look. I'd love the color for my bathroom or bedroom -it's a little bit squishy so it's soft but firm at the same time. Just imagine a bike seat material. -very durable and the leash does not expand or contract at all -construction looks very high quality - I have no concerns with anything breaking -very strong and easy to use clasp - easy to open to clip onto dog's harness -waterproof Observations -the clip is strong but a bit on the medium/heavy side. I would use for a medium/large dog and not for a smaller dog -because so much of the leash goes around the torso, body, you're going to find the leash's effective range for the dog is about 4 feet. I completely realized this before ordering so I also ordered their regular leash and attached the two together and the dogs now have all the range I want and I get the security and comfort. This is a very quality leash that is just so comfortable - I really like it. p.s. it does come with a very nicely designed poop bag dispenser as well - design is much more elevated than the normal bone shaped one that most are used to but I still prefer fabric poop bag dispensers
