My first impression unwrapping the mango wood table is that it’s very, very smelly. The box, the paper, whatever it is, is not a pleasant odor. I hope it’ll dissipate. My second impression is that the wood is dull, not shiny the way it appears on the Amazon site. Maybe a bit of polish will help, but since there’re no instructions, I don’t quite know what I should do. Speaking of no instructions, although attaching the legs is not complicated, it does require a tool — a hex wrench — which like the instructions, is also missing. (When you attach the legs take care that they’re attached angle-out under the table.) My third impression of the table — or of the legs — is that they were coarsely made. By “coarsely” I mean that they’re not polished smooth, and that there are a few scratches on the metal. But you’ll never see them, so I wouldn’t worry about it. On the plus side, the table is quite heavy and sturdy. And I like that the legs aren’t straight up and down under the table, but angle out. That makes all the difference to the design appeal of this table. The legs have adjusting screws at the bottom to help balance the table. The screws seem to be made of a hard plastic, perhaps as to not scratch your floor, but the plastic is very hard, so if you have delicate wood floors, you should probably get silicone feet. My last impression of this mango wood table is that it came very, very dirty (see photo). Dirt is one of the reasons the wood looked so dull, but it’s not the only reason. I cleaned the table and used a spray furniture polish on it, and the table immediately looked better. But I think it can look better still if I sand it very lightly and use a good quality wood grain oil on it. As it turns out, after all my bad first impressions, I now think the table is quite handsome. So…I’m torn about how many stars to give this table. If I were to review it the way it arrived, I’d say it’s a 2-star table. But the table CAN be quite nice. It HAS GREAT potential. Just know that before buying it. The table will not arrive the way it looks in the photo on the Amazon site. But you can get it there.

This is not your typical Formica-MDF coffee table. It is real Mango wood. It is gorgeous. Yes, it comes a bit dusty, and you need to have your own hex tool to put it together, but get past that, and you will have one gorgeous statement piece. I would highly recommend this coffee table.
