  • Review from a carpenter: a solid all around option
This saw is great value for the money. I'm a carpenter and a professional cabinet maker and I use this saw all the time. I've had it for about a year and it's still one of my daily drivers! Durability is what you would expect at this price point. The black paint comes off over time but doesn't mar the finish of your workpiece. My biggest complaint is that it's not as sturdy as I would like - but I also put this saw through a lot. Because this is a folding saw, it can be a little bit rickety. The clasping hardware doesn't work super great, but they seem to have upgraded the model since I purchased, so it might be different now. As far as cut quality goes, I'd give it 4/5. This saw is ideal for niche applications and is a great EDC tool for that reason. If you need something reliable and highly practical, this is a great option! The kerf is slightly different for both sides of the blade so keep that in mind. One side is more aggressive and one side gives a finer finish. The packaging is very nice, which tells you the brand takes some pride in their product - unlike a lot of budget tools on Amazon. ... show more

  • A nice pocket carry camp gadget for small tasks.
I love what I call "camp gadgets": well-designed, small/collapsible/space-saving, lightweight gear for camping and other outdoorsy activities. And this is just a perfect camp gadget: an attractive, ultra-lightweight, folding, miniature handsaw for SMALL campfire tasks. Fabulous design. Wonderful aesthetic. Love the wood handles (all else equal, I much prefer natural materials to synthetics). NOTE: The metal is very thin and very flexible so THIS ISN'T THE SAW TO TACKLE LARGE BRANCHES WITH, NOR TO SAW VIGOROUSLY WITH OR TO PUT A LOT OF PRESSURE ON WHEN USING IT. Take care of yourself and take care of your little handy campsite handsaw and saw slowly and mindfully with due care on tasks appropriate to it's size. AND EVEN MORE OBVIOUSLY, THIS IS NOT THE SAW TO DO WOODWORKING TASKS WITH. This is very clearly a camp gadget, not a saw for your wood shop. I can't believe some people bought this and tried to use it to straight-cut lumbered wood for a dresser or whatever, but reading some of the negative reviews, they did. Why anyone would buy a tiny, pocket-sized, ultralight folding handsaw for their wood shop or for woodworking tasks is completely beyond me. It is so patently obvious that it is for pocket carry in the woods. There's just very little commonsense left in the world these days. • Handy tool for finishing circular cuts in trim
Giving 5 stars based on quality for the price point. There is undoubtedly better more expensive saws for highly detailed oriented craftsmen but for simple production work I think this saw does very well. Great size and style for light duty finish work. Bought this saw for one purpose and that is finishing circular cuts in paint grade base, case and exterior trim. Found it cuts clean enough for most stain grade soft to medium hardwoods such as poplar, white oak and sapele. Got this to replace my more full size Japan saw so I can cut on the go and have a saw that’s compact and portable in my nail bags. The folding aspect makes it safe for carrying without damaging my bags. I don’t expect much from this saw other than cutting clean inside corners an inch here and there. Came In a particularly nice box for the money which gives it a gift item quality rather than a trapped in plastic Bob the builder tool. Not much slop in the handle and I find it virtually unnoticeable in my use and application. Nice fit and finish and meets my expectations at the price point and operates very well within my reasonable use expectations. Have not used for any other application but I would consider buying another one for light outdoors use such as camping or light pack hiking. I personally would not use my finish saw for duel purpose to maintain and extend the clean finish cut lifespan. I would buy another one and buy again when needed ... show more

  • MAKING THE CUT
Size: 8 Inch
While just holding the pullsaw in my hand, I find the wood handle finish too smooth and slippery. How this folds and unfolds is a delight, and the lock is firm. The blade has a great finish, it’s firm and flexible, and the teeth are on point. During use I didn’t notice the finish of the handle due to a lighter grip while sawing. Perhaps as a personal preference I’d sand it down and add an oil finish. The box to store it is also a bonus, the magnetic closures are a great touch. The saw is worth getting and I’d hight recommend it to anyone interested, you’ll get more than your monies worth on this item. ... show more

  • It's okay, good design with limited cutting capabilities.
Size: 8 Inch
It does okay. I am a Silky saw kind of person, so I may be biased. The rip cutting edge is absolutely terrible, but the crosscut capabilities are fine. It's good to stick in your pack if you don't have room for a bigger saw.

  • Kerey’s little folding saw is accurate, quick and well worth the price.
I have a number of the best Japanese woodworking saws available, and enjoy them all. Still, my three folders, are nearly a foot long (folded), which is a little bulky to take to the hardware store or lumber yard. They are also very expensive! (And, I have a habit of laying things down.) Crazy cheap, the Kerey is a valuable alternative. The cross-cut and rip combo blades are sharp and durable. They finish cuts in seconds, and can take on a 4x4 or sheet of plywood with ease. This tool can improve your skills. The “draw” technique sets the cut making accuracy a given. Though, the blade is a little thick to produce perfect joints, its width will keep your cuts straight. I will always prefer my high-end Japanese razor sharp saws for precision, but the Kerey is a good buddy that fits in almost any pocket. And, it will make your time out gathering resources quick and fun. One minor concern; when deployed, the double blade can be a little loose. The two screws the handle rotates about when opening can be tightened, which helps. You may even want to add a couple drops of “thread tight” to them to extend the life of this impressive, inexpensive and practical saw. ... show more
