I was skeptical of buying this ball as the reviews didn't seem all that positive. However, because I was able to purchase it at a decent price, I bought it. I'm glad I did. This ball is AWESOME!! I had it drilled shortly after receipt but never had a chance to practice with it prior to use. Despite this, I took it to a tournament, for potential use, at a house that has notoriously difficult lanes - regardless of pattern. This ball saved my game. It was the only ball in my arsenal that worked. The tournament administrators and house did not re-oil the lanes after the first squad. I bowled squad 3, so the lanes were pretty burnt. This ball performed effortlessly and gave me some control. I was happy and scored fair. Two things about this ball: 1. it's definitely not the Purple Pearl Urethane that some users are used to using and 2. this ball isn't a mid range to high level performance ball, but it sure works like one. first series with this ball, 185 - 246 - 225. but I havent had that good of a series since. it just seemed that the ball forgave mistakes when I first threw it, but I havent been so lucky lately. Reactive and urethane were the same price, so i bought the reactive. no regrets,

2023feb28 edit: Almost at the same time I got this ball and Motiv Ambush. After a few weeks bowling, I felt this Hammer reactive has easier control than Ambush. I love this Hammer more than Ambush, it is just me. First time opened the box at home, took the ball out on a ball cup. After a few hours, the whole house full of chemical smell, had to put the ball back in plastic bag and back in the box. The ball is now in my bowling alley locker, the whole locker smell so bad.
