It is very controlled, meaning it will do exactly what you want it to do, but only if you put the effort in. Depending on how oily your lanes are, it has good reactivity. For the price of this ball it can not be beat! This ball out performed my expectations so far. The only issue I have and it’s just a personal one is that it is way more aggressive then you would think it to be. You need some oil for sure and would be a great house shot ball! If it’s dry watch out because you are going Brooklyn! Aside from that i will be using this ball for a long time and plan on getting the solid version soon. Bought this ball for my sister who had been a previous bowler 8 years ago. I owm a lot of aggressive balls and bowl twice a week myself. When she bowled we saw the cover stock being very aggressive on dry lane and I even threw it and was suprised by the core movement and cover stock strength. I would highly suggest this ball for a beginner learning to curve the ball. Yet make sure to drill it with an offset and not straight down the middle with the pin point on the ball ... show more

Love this ball. It is equated similar to Storm's IQ Tour bowling ball, and I would agree. By the way, yes, this ball is a solid. However, it is different enough that if you choose to carry the Hammer Obsession Solid (Love this ball) along with the Obsession Tour solid, you'll be okay. The Tour is more of a benchmark ball whereas the Obsession Solid seems to be more of a performance, heavy oil ball. By the way, I have the Obsession Pearl as well. Thus far, I'm not impressed.
