A real solution for whitewater kayaking
A sharp dive/kayaking knife attached to the front my kid's lifejacket is a formula for a stabbing incident (or a semi-expensive loss) when in whitewater. I still carry a folding blade in a pocket but I've attached one of these to my PDF and the PDF of anyone I bring with me. Good purchase.

Its a knife and it cuts stuff
We wanted to use these on our skydiving rigs and ordered five to for the engineering guys to evaluate. They are nice and small and the lanyard was changed out to a slightly larger one and a snap added by rigging. They cut all types of line easily, 1000# dacron, heavy spectra, HMA etc. The only problem is its small size did not fit into the pockets built onto the rigs and it was surmised that it would be dislodged too easily and engineering said it would be too costly to reengineer the pockets to hold them tighter even with the snap added. They are a nice little knife will most likely work very well for their intended purpose.

Wind surfing and beyond
I know this knife is perhaps more for wind surfing but it’s actually also really good for diving. Carrying this in case you get tangled in fishing line is never a bad idea. Very sharp and compact which makes it easy to carry and easy to use!
