I purchased for a guest room with a bay window that has direct sun for most of the day. I estimate the curtains have reduced the temperature in the room by at least 10+ degrees, which helps to save on AC costs. The curtains also allow my guests to block out nearly all light. I made sure to hang the curtains about 6 1/2" higher than the top of the window for maximum blackout. I bought the brown, which is a beautiful deep chocolate rich brown (difficult to see in the picture since the room is so dark!). The second layer of fabric on the back side is black. I hung the curtains on a 1-inch diameter Meriville bay window curtain wrap around rod set in oil-rubbed bronze. The attached picture shows quite a bit of light at the ceiling since the bay window curtain rod set wraps around and is about 4" away from the window. I am very happy with the curtains and the curtain rod set. I recommend purchasing the curtains. I plan to buy a different color very soon for another room. You will not be disappointed.

So I have a patio with a floor to ceiling (like 13 ft ceiling) hurricane proof glass doors. The doors lead out into a lake area with a ton of animals. I have been needing a great curtain that completely blocks my neighbors seeing into my place at night. I got other curtains before from a store and they were completely see through into my living room. When I got these curtains here on Amazon, I was crossing my fingers! They are WONDERFUL!!!! The material is double layered and super thick. The interior material blocks out any light and completely covers my entire patio. Also, the curtain rings slide perfectly on the curtain rod (I wrote a review about that one too, it's awesome!) So the curtain slide in and out without needing to be tugged hard! I love that material of this curtain. So because these curtain are huge, I had to drag them across the unfinished floor of my patio. I removed carpeting and only the water sealant left behind was there. That sealant flakes off if you walk on it. So my beautiful white curtains were sadly dragged across it. Once I hanged the curtain up, I then realized what happen. I thought I was going to have to clean them right away, but I started to try and pat away the sealant flakes and they came off no problem!!!! I literally took a broom handle and started patting the flakes off the curtain, it came off and left no marks behind. I'm super impressed with the quality of the material! Totally worth the buy!!!

I am so impressed with the feel and look of these curtains. They seem to keep out some of the blistering summer heat and look great doing it. The fabric feels and looks high quality, and I like that they don’t have a rubberized backing on window facing layer.

I live in a century home with lots of tall windows in every room which is, quite literally, painful for a migraineur in the sun drenched South. I close my curtains from June 1 to October 1 every year to save money on AC and to be able to live comfortably inside my home. I have had bought several blackout curtains in the past and they either were NOT blackout, or they had a stiff, plastic back and cracked and crumbled after a few years leaving light spots that would beam through. These "White" (with black backing) are truly blackout. Absolutely no doubt about it. The fabric is soft and satiny. To be honest, I do not like how the curtains look - they are too shiny for my taste and the white with black backing are silvery grey. But, I was always going to put them behind my current grommet curtains - I bought these over 108" curtain liners because they cost the same, or less, and had better reviews. So, to sum up: Blackout? ABSOLUTELY! Beautiful curtains? Meh, but I didn't care. I will buy more white with white backing because, unlike my bedroom that I want/need to be very dark, other parts of the house I'd like a hint of light to fade through. And, truthfully, even the true white might be too dark! Lol

These are great quality material. I had assumed the wrinkles would work themselves out but they are still wrinkled after several weeks hanging. Have not tried putting them in the dryer to see if that will get the wrinkles out (at least not yet). Definitely work as black-out curtains due to the material and thick lining. The lining is black. The navy color of the curtains is true navy and exactly as seen online. I would try getting the wrinkles out before you hang them to save time later.

We needed a dark navy blue & I was hesitant to order these particular curtains because the picture looked more like a royal blue. Because of Amazon’s easy return policy I went ahead & ordered them & I’m so glad I did. The color is perfect, fabric is of good quality & they are lined. I am extremely happy with this purchase.

These curtains are beautiful. They're very soft and silky feeling and they look fancy. I needed insulated drapes for a drafty window in my beach themed bedroom, so I definitely was looking for a light color. I didn't want the regular,ordinary,standard "black out" drapes from a store. To be honest, I didn't care if they were sound block, black out or not. After reading a couple of the reviews, I was a little skeptical. Some said they weren't the color they ordered or that was shown in the picture or they didn't black out light, etc. The ones I got are perfect!! They look great, the color is as described (white), they are heavy feeling, they black out light, they are keeping the cold out AND much to my surprise, they even reduce noise! (I truly didn't believe that was even a thing, but it is SO noticeable and apparent! The price was right too! Very happy with this purchase!

unfortunately, my package came ripped open and the curtains came in dirty because of it. they were shipped with no packaging other than what the manufacturer sent them in. that being said, i love looking at the windows during the day from the outside. they make the windows almost look like they are painted black. they are very light and easy to hang. if you want to darken a room, these will be a great way to do it.
