The media could not be loaded. In the last few yrs we’ve had a total of 7 “hoverboards” for varying lengths of time. My focus going in was always pretty much the same as when I’m selecting a new cellphone - battery is king. Sure all the fancy features and bells & whistles are nice but I’m prob never gonna use those things so when forced to choose I’ll always lean towards better batt specs. The big difference this time was that prior to this F1 all but one were cheapies. You know the ones…where there are like 80 different no name, off brand boards all within a $40 or so price span so you spend hours trying to differentiate between them before finally realizing they’re all basically the same and you’re just gonna have to throw a dart and hope. Well now I’ve thrown several darts and I learned a few things along the way from and about all those cheapies. 1. Listed specs are almost always exaggerated (to say it nicely) on them. This is especially true of the battery. Four separate ones arrived and when I looked at the spec sticker that they all have I immediately saw the batt capacity was far lower (sometimes half!) than what they’d so proudly claimed. In my view that is outright fraud. This Gyroor battery exactly matches its listing and performs well, usually lasting at least a cpl hr or so depending on the size of the kid (or adult) on it and how aggressively they’re using it. 2. They all had absurdly dangerous chargers/charging systems. This Gyroor unit is just the 2nd one we’ve had (the other board with the legit charger is also a Gyroor) that has an honest to god trickle charger like you put on stored vehicles instead of just the cheapest money can buy that hopefully won’t blow up. Some of the cheaper ones weren’t even actually UL listed, as they’d claimed. A lot of ppl don’t realize that’s something you can pretty easily look up. A MAJOR bonus that I hadn’t seen til the F1 is that the battery is detachable. You can easily take it out of its little compartment or you can leave it in and charge it as is. I love that you can take the battery inside to charge if you’d like and leave the board and its inevitably dirty wheels outside. This also solves a cpl problems — A - Extreme heat or cold is teerrrrrible for batteries so it’s great that you can keep the battery inside when storing (don’t forget to top it off from time to time to avoid batt deep freeze if you are stowing away for long periods). B - All batteries have a finite # of charge cycles in them regardless of quality so if you want to replace the battery down the line it will be SO much easier to do without having to open the board up to replace it. 3. Not all apps are created equal. A few of the cheapies did also have a connected app but they didn’t seem to actually do much of anything. They did help you Bluetooth connect your music or whatever but we normally don’t waste time or battery life on that. The Gyroor app was simple to connect and with a sliding bar you can easily adjust the max speed it’s capable of which is especially great for kids and/or beginners. You can also do some cool stuff with the lights. I am an engineer so I’ve somewhat enjoyed messing with these things and seeing what they’re actually comprised of vs. what they claim but my recommendation to anyone would be…skip all the junk. If you can swing the price bump into this higher level of quality I think you’ll make out well in regards to value in the long run. **oh by the ways** —— The reason we sprang for this brand & model is bc the one non-cheapie we have is a Gyroor G5 and it’s been so great for us that I’m sold on the brand. Though we likely won’t use it much the speaker on this thing is pretty incredible, especially compared to the thin sound you get from the cheaper boards. Bc of the way sound travels the continuous tube makes a huge difference. The fin in the center is also a handle and while it might not seem like a big deal it’s more helpful/handy than you might think. This thing doesn’t loudly and annoyingly beep nonstop when it thinks you’re going too fast like literally every cheap one we’ve had. When you power on it makes a cool engine start sound. Is this important, absolutely not…but I have to admit I like it. You could probably use a kart seat on the F1 but you might have to get a little creative and put blocks or something between the seat and the board to lift it up over the fin in the center. If you’re going to try to use a kart seat I’d recommend a slightly unconventional attachment method. I’ve tried several things on our other boards from heavy duty wire ties to Velcro straps to paracord. They all rub against the ground enough to wear down and eventually snap. I finally landed on stainless steel hose clamps. They’re dirt cheap and easily malleable & resilient enough to do the job. We purchased this about a year ago and my 9 year old son has a blast with it! It stood up well for some time and then the battery would only last for a few minutes. I saw that the battery warranty was only 6 months but figured I would contact Gyroor directly and see if there was anything they could do. I was pleasantly surprised when they told me they would send me a new battery! Needless to say I am very happy with the product and their customer support. UPDATE 1/25/2021 - So Gyroor wound up sending me the wrong battery, and and then asked me to ship the entire hoverboard back so they would fix it. I sent it back and they sent me back a hoverboard where the bottom was not fully screwed in and the threads were stripped. They then sent me another hoverboard that had the SAME EXACT ISSUES. Now they are saying they don't have it in stock and will send me a new one once it is in stock. It has been about 6 months since I had this initially had this issue which is not an acceptable amount of time. If I do finally received a working hoverboard that is also safe to use I will update this review again. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Having bought a Gyroor eScooter and loved it, we wanted to try out the F1. From the moment you take this out of the box, it screams FAST and Quality. It is heavy and feels solid. The app was very intuitive and it was very easy to set up and control the hoverboard. I have never been on one and thought I would take it for a spin. I tested it in the basement on the carpet (just in case) and I could not believe how simple it was. When you hear about hoverboard being self-balancing, most of them do not do that. With this one, you hit the power button and you see it self-balance (with the roar of an engine as well). Step on and that's it. It is very smooth and simple to control (middle-aged man here talking), I had it down in minutes. We took it outside and paired it to the phone and it really blasts the music well! Goes up our driveway with no issues and then to the road. It was speedy on the road (I did not even come close to 12mph as I was fine going slow), went over the grass and on to the gravel path with no issues what so ever. Battery and charger were top of the line and easy to access. This is a fantastic hoverboard and if you are looking for one that works and is simple to use, get this one!!!! ... show more

The media could not be loaded. This Gyroor F1 hoverboard is exceptional! I wanted to buy a hoverboard for my daughter as an upgrade to her original and this F1 was the perfect fit. It is fast, beautifully designed and easy to use. Once the hoverboard is turned on, it has an electrifying roar. At that moment you know you're about to have an amazing experience. It glides nicely on all different terrains with its off road tires and has distinct sounds for braking and turning which I found to be neat. The F1 has lights that illuminate the hoverboard and quality Bluetooth speakers. I was truly impressed with this model.
