  • Great fun for toddler- expect occasional tumble.
Color: Purple
We have the Imaginarium Bouncy Horse at my in-laws' house and it is pretty comparable to the Rody Hopping Horse, only at 1/3 the cost. The main difference is that Imaginarium just comes in red, while Rody comes in a variety of colors. At first I thought maybe the more expensive Rody would be better than the Imaginarium because my 2 year old daughter would often fall forward if she leaned on the back of the Imaginarium Horse's head ... except the same thing happened on the Rody Horse. We also had a funny issue with how much air to fill the horses with. too little air and the legs collapse a bit, especially in the front = more toddler falling forward. Much more air solves some of the leg issues, but then the horses become quite rotund and my toddler has an interesting time getting her legs around the horse's big belly. So with all of this, why did I still give 4 stars?? Because my 2 year old LOVES both horses. I love the color of the Rody and I guess I don't really mind paying much more to get the original bouncy horse design and the option of the fun colors vs the Imaginarium's one color (red). My daughter drags the horse all over the house and bounces like crazy. She has a million toys, ride-ons, and other gizmos ... but she continuously comes back to this horse. She laughs the whole time she's bouncing. As for the falling forward, she has mostly learned to avoid leaning on the head, and when she does fall forward she puts her hands out and avoids hurting herself on the hardwood floors. I feel like the horse has actually made her a little tougher ;D She just jumps right back onto the horse- a great life lesson. Thanks Rody! Fun fact: the air pump hole is on Rody's butt, just below the tail. Ha. Imaginarium put the hole for their horse on the belly. ... show more

  • Awesome! Easy to inflate, durable and bouncy!
Color: Purple
The media could not be loaded. So, I had asked my daughter's grandparents to get her Rody for Xmas and they got her the Waddle Unicorn. That thing is terrible. It's hard as a rock. I'm 150lbs and can sit on it and it doesn't deflate and I can't even get it to bounce. Probably because it's made of plastic and not rubber. I think they got it bc it was $30 cheaper and was a total waste of money (it reminds me of Charlie the Unicorn heading to Candy Mountain) as it just sits in the corner of my daughter's room..all alone.. I feel bad for Charlie. Now! Finally! She got Rody for her birthday from her Godmother and she's not home yet but I can tell a huge difference. First, super easy to inflate. We had the pump from poor old Waddle Charlie. Rubber is super durable and smooth. I've been dropping Rody over and over to see if he bounces and he sure does! I can't wait for her to come home and see him! Sorry, Charlie! ... show more

  • 'Neigh' your heart out
Color: Orange
It was Easter of 2014, and my wife and I, along with our then 15-month-old daughter were invited over to my wife's Aunt Mary's house for Easter dinner. Aunt Mary is somewhat older, and doesn't have many kids toys at her house, but, she did happen to have this way-old-school rocking horse thing with huge springs, and a metal frame, and... it was just the kind of thing that parents nowadays would look at and think immediately that 'my kid is going to lose a finger on that somehow'... Well, we didn't let the old-school horse-rocker deter us from letting our daughter get on it to just 'give-it-a-go'... and boy, did we regret that decision as soon as we made it. Dont worry, she didn't lose a finger. She did, however, fall in love with bouncing on EVERYTHING from that day on, while yelling "neigh! neigh! neigh!" Sofa arms? "Neigh! neigh! neigh!" Dining room chair? "Neigh! neigh! neigh!" Dad's knee? "Neigh! neigh! neigh!" The next-door-neighbor's 2-year-old kid? "Neigh! neigh! neigh!" Finally, after about 4 months of my kid 'neighing' on everything, my wife and I decided we needed to find something that would fulfill my daughter's love for neighing while also allowing her to stay somewhat safe while doing so (the arm of a sofa is just 2.5' too high for our comfort)... Enter the Rody - this thing allows my daughter to 'neigh' til the horses come home - she bounces on it everywhere, and - BONUS - since there are no springs to do the work, she wears herself out on it while bouncing which leads to more peaceful naptimes after a full session on this thing. Buy this - it's fun for the kids, and fun for you. ... show more

Color: Yellow
This was a gift, so the parents inflated it. My granddaughter seems to love it and bounces around on it!

  • RIP Rody (5yr.)
Color: Pink
Thought now would be a good time to review this product. Got this for my daughter when she was 2 years old. She was a little hesitant at first but became attached in no time. It blows my mind how crazy she would jump on this thing. After 5 years Rody had met his demise and popped from one of his stretch marks. After about a year and a couple times inflating it became a little disformed and you could see the weak spots. Life time I had to inflate less than 5times. Kind of odd how you have to inflate Rody Insert plastic tube around rear end (my kid thought it was hilarious) Otherwise great product! ... show more

  • Good toy, but be careful! Very wobly and unstable and you really need to supervise the unbalanced learner :)
Color: Pink
My daughter seems to not get the hang of it. She almost looks too big for it (she's 2) or the product seems to not inflate all the way (but we've inflated it to the max, where it seems like it's about to burst). She falls off easily and doesn't bounce well on it. I thought it would be like the videos but instead of bouncing up and down my daughter seems to lose her balance on it quickly. Maybe it's just because when I first gave this to my daughter she was still trying to balance out having a large head (don't toddlers look like cute bobble heads, lol) but her balancing skills are much better now. I'll try to give it to her again and see if she can play with it more now. Before she would bounce and go flying off the thing but I think she's gotten more skills at balancing the past 4 months and will be able to use this more in the spring. I like it because it's adorable and seems like it will be a ton of fun once she gets used to the concept. She really does have fun on it the times I let her play but I always have to put pillows around her and be on alert in case she falls. As she gets older though she'll have a blast. ... show more
