I have a nice Honda lawnmower that we didnt have to use for the last couple of years thanks to the landscaper however it didnt make much sense to let it sit so I thought I'd get it running and give it to my son (who is just buying his first house). It wouldnt start so after the usual - new fuel, carb clean, new plug, etc and still getting nowhere I purchased this carburetor so I could repair it myself. If you have even the most basic skills you can do this even if like me your specialty is not small engine repair. I was able to get the old one off, the new one on and the mower back up and running in less than an an hour and that includes double checking my work and testing before I put everything 100% back together. The instructions were easy but there are some online videos that make it a cake walk. The one 'off book' recommendation I received was to also replace the Thermo Wax at the same time which was the right call. One of each...less than $40 in parts and I had a great mower up and running in record time. It has been running just fine since - no issues and I could not be happier with the decision to give this a shot myself instead of pay someone to replace it at "retail lawnmower repair" rates. Absolutely worth the time and money.

Worked PERFECTLY on a Honda lawn mower HRR216K9VKAA, and be SURE to get the Thermo Wax automatic choke control too for the extra $15 !! In fact my repair for my Honda mower, 9 years old, that finally quit running MORE LIKELY due to the Thermo Wax control that wouldn't move on it's own any more than the carb failure and had to be finger activated. I've seen vids where you can "maybe" freshen up and restore your current stuck and tight Thermo Wax, but for $15 for a new perfect one - that works best for me. That said, with what a nice new Honda mower costs today at around $600, spending $50 on the carb AND thermo wax was cheap, and it started on the SECOND PULL !!!! Be sure to use new hose compression clamps too so the gas line is nicely sealed and not pulling in any air. The only stuck on gasket was the factory one in place on the engine block and I didn't want to mess with it as it wouldn't come off. So I just re-used it with the new carb and it was still perfectly fine, and the engine purrs like a kitten. I also used the in-line gas filter which can never hurt and the fresh air cleaner element. I just assembled the carb parts and gaskets in reverse order they would go on the engine, with the bolts through the air cleaner and pointing up. It is fumbly otherwise unless you have a helper set of hands.

This is a high quality exact fit carburetor to replace the OEM unit on a Honda GCV160 lawnmower engine. It comes with an assortment of gaskets, a fuel filter, a length of fuel line, and a replacement fuel shutoff valve, all of which I used. The kit also includes a replacement spark plug. It was easy to swap the components, paying careful attention to how the mower's throttle controls attached. When I was done, I had a smoothly running mower.

(Disclaimer...I'm female, lol) I'm in my 40s and have always had trouble with mowers after a few years (rightfully so) as I knew nothing about maintaining them and never really have. I finally got tired of buying a different one so figured what the heck, I'll try to see if I can figure anything out on this one. After watching a couple YouTube videos, I decided to try to clean the carburetor. I took it apart and tried to clean it the best I could with carb cleaner. I never did get the valve thing out but think a previous repair guy kind of stripped it so couldn't get my screwdriver to catch well. I also didn't see any cleaner coming out when I sprayed it in the side hole (where the screw if on top). I put it back together and using new gas, tried to start it but no luck. So... I decided to Google replacement carbs and ended up buying this one (Ace hardware would to have had to order it as well.) Anyway, it came the next day (faster than the two days it said it would take) and I replaced it relatively quickly since I was already familiar with the process. Low and behold, it took off and sounded better than it had in years! So happy and proud of myself. Installed on a Craftsman Model # 247.377450 with a Honda GCV 160 motor, with no problems at all! Btw... It had been doing the surge thing for years before it finally wouldn't start.

Installed easily but had to turn fuel air mixture screw out a 1/2 turn for it to run properly it was running rich when 1st installed but adjusted the screw and no issues

I only paid attention to the fact that this was a reasonably-priced carburetor. I was surprised to see that it was a complete kit, including a spark plug. Well, I installed the carburetor and the engine still wouldn't start, but the flooding problem was fixed. Finally, I changed the spark plug and, voila! The lawn mower works perfectly! My only complaint is Amazon's terrible search feature that shows everything in the world so you still have to search diligently to actually find the item you are looking for.

Great Kit! Looks and functions just like the OEM carb and all the gaskets and parts fit/work well. There are not instructions, this isn’t a big deal if you pay close attention when you take apart and remove the old one. After the easy install the part allowed the engine to start right away and runs smoothly. Can’t ask more from a kit that was this affordable.
